Reddit posts 53% revenue growth, guides to about 40% in Q4 as Google traffic slides and logged-in-only shift looms
Executives said the company will test and then adopt a logged-in-only platform, while attributing falling search referrals to Google's AI mode.
Reddit's third-quarter revenue rose 53% year over year to $895 million, with a 45% adjusted EBITDA margin, Chief Financial Officer Drew Vollero said Thursday on the company's earnings call, as executives said Reddit will move to a logged-in-only platform to offset declining referral traffic from Google.
Logged-in-only shift
CEO Steve Huffman said the move to require logins is a test but also a commitment. "This is a test but we are going to make this transition," he said. He listed several reasons: personalized recommendations, better ad targeting, protecting Reddit's data from scraping, and adapting to emerging regulations. The test will run in "a few markets outside the us," he said. Huffman acknowledged a trade-off, saying Reddit will "likely be trading reach for engagement." Some version of Reddit will remain accessible before a login prompt, he said, and the test aims to find where to draw that boundary. Asked about content licensing, he said the shift "doesn't change" the company's perspective and that any deal must be "a fair exchange of value," which could include not doing a deal.
Google traffic and user trends
Huffman said the biggest hypothesis for falling search referrals is Google's AI Overviews and AI mode, which he said "does not drive traffic." A second factor, he said, is that Reddit's machine-translated content appears to be ranked lower, mainly affecting markets outside the U.S. He said "reddit is still among the most searched words on google," so demand for the site has not changed. Total sessions are down because of the search decline, Huffman said, but logged-in and app engagement is growing. Reddit increased international user marketing spending partly to offset lost search reach, executives said. Huffman said new-user retention is up more than 50% year over year.
Financials and outlook
Advertising revenue was $847 million, up 54%, and other revenue was $48 million, up 35%, Vollero said. U.S. revenue grew 50% and international revenue 67%. Average revenue per unique user rose 36% to $6.87. Free cash flow was $363 million, a 41% margin, and cash and investments topped $3 billion. Net income was $283 million, or $1.40 per diluted share. For the fourth quarter, Reddit guided to revenue of $1 billion to $1.03 billion, or 38% to 42% growth, and adjusted EBITDA of $480 million to $510 million. Vollero said Reddit's next internal revenue goal is $5 billion. On third-quarter upside that was smaller than in prior quarters, Vollero cited some September days on which Reddit could not deliver all bookings.

We've gone from

we've gone from flip phones to smartphones to personal ai agents

And through
it
all,
Reddit has a lot of different
also been very important
always
owned the

corner of the
and through it all reddit has always owned our own corner of the internet
Internet,
offering
people
something
that
no one else
can
offering people something that no one else does

Social media has a lot of people who are not going to be

evolved from the

social media has evolved from friends and families to followers and famous people

I think that's a good idea.
And from status

mind less than the

Web search is a
evolving
from

gateway to the

to become a web

AI-powered
web search is evolving from a gateway to the web

to becoming an ai powered destination itself

While extraordinarily useful, it's a very important thing to
it is

powerful.
AI

a
different
while extraordinarily useful and powerful
problem

AI does not

ai search solves a different problem than reddit ai does not fulfill people's
fundamental
need
for
community
connection
and
belonging
with

And it lets you know

fundamental need for community connection and belonging with other people

and it lacks context and nuance

Thanks for the

thanks for the question ben so
So
the transition is a very important
to the next
logic is a very important
transition to logged in
in.
you know,
the
genesis
is
like
every
other
platform
has
done
this.
Now Reddit's
know the genesis is like every other platform has done this
different.
now reddit's different we've
We've
been
uh
accessible
logged
out
for a lot of
long
long
been accessible logged out for a long time
time.
Um but
now
is
the right
time to do
for the
a variety
of
reasons.
One,
but now is the right time for a variety of reasons one
when
when reddit
was
born, it was a lot of
the
same
content
for
everybody.
Now
is
huge.
was born was the same content for everybody now reddit is huge
and so
the product is a lot of the
works
best when people are doing
looking at the
logged
in and
can
get
personalized
and so the product works best when people are logged in and can get personalized
recommendations
for
communities
and
content.
Second,
recommendations for communities and content second
it's a very important
gives you lot of
us
better
information
for to
target
ads
better.
it gives us better information for to target ads better
third
Third,
it lets you know
us
better protect the power of the
it lets us better protect
the
corpus
of
data.
the vast majority of
the
scraping
and
stealing
of
Reddit has a lot of
the reddit corpus of data the vast majority of the scraping and
happens in
our
logout
user
base.
I'm going to go to the next store.
And
finally, it allows us to do
more easily use the same
stealing of reddit happens in our logout user base and finally
adapt to the
to
emerging
regulations
around the
world.
allows us to more easily adapt to emerging regulations around the world
Now, there will be a lot of people who are going to be
trade-offs
here.
So we would like
likely
be
trading
reach for the
now there will be trade offs here so we will likely be trading
engagement.
So, I'm going to use a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a
But when user logs in the
Red
Reddit, they're not going to be able to do
engage with the
much
more
reach for engagement but when a user logs into reddit they engage much more deeply
deeply.
But keep in
mind that the USB is a very important
that 80% of the
the
of monetary system is a very important
of
happens
so keep in mind that eighty percent of the monetization of reddit
within
our
app and
logged
happens within our app and logged in
in
cohort.
And so I think there's
a lot
of
opportunity
here.
It's the reason
why I think
cohort and so i think there's a lot of opportunity here
many of
our
peers
went to
this
through
transition
uh
it's the reason why i think many of our peers went through this transition already
already.
we have to do that.
So, we're going a little bit of a test.
So in our task, we have to do a lot of the
we have
different
we have a lot of things that we have to
done is do a lot
looking at the
for is
to
is
so in our test what we're looking for is to see
see
you
know which
surfaces we
put
the
log
in
walls
up
on.
um,
when
we
do
So for example,
which surfaces we put the login walls up on
we want people
to go
Reddit dot
when we do it so for example we want people to go to reddit dot com
and
get
a
taste
of
Reddit.
We want link
sharing or
post
sharing on
to
continue
work.
and get a taste of reddit we want link sharing or post sharing on reddit to continue to work
So figuring out
those
nuances is really
important.
Studying the
conversion
rate
on
different
so figuring out those nuances is really important
services is really
was
important.
Looking
at
studying the conversion rate on different services is really important looking at
how
engagement
or
how engagement
improves
on
the
other
side
of
that
how engagement or how engagement improves
conversion is
really
important.
And so all of these things are
complex and so I
on the other side of that conversion is really important and so
think
the best thing is that we can do
way
to look at the market the
that is that I'm going be able
just to get a lot of
test as soon as you
all of these things are complex and so i think the best way to learn that is just to get to a test as soon as
possible.
And so we'll be
doing
that in a few
markets outside of the
U.S.
as soon as we can do
to
possible and so we'll be doing that in a few markets outside the us
learn.
So then I'll hand over to
Jen
for
the
revenue
question, which is actually a good
really
as soon as we can to learn and so then i'll hand over to jen for the
related
to
this.
Yeah, sure.
um
the revenue question which is actually related to this yeah sure
So look, demand is really
strong.
Um
And obviously
we
grew
really
so look demand is really strong and
nicely
in two
Q3 and been
growing really
nicely.
obviously we grew really nicely in q3 and been growing really nicely
You know, a couple
of
things.
80% of our over 80% of the world
our
mind
monetization
sits on the
shoulders
a couple of things eighty percent of our over eighty percent of our monetization sits
of
logged
in
and
app
users
because
they
have
you
know
order
magnitude more than a
on the shoulders of logged in and app users because they have
engagement
and
order magnitude more engagement and frequency
frequency
than you
know
our
search
referral
logs are
out using the
users.
So
that's
really
than our search referral logged out users
our
bedrock.
And over 60% of the bedrooms are going
our
so that's really our bedrock and
business
is
performance
oriented.
So it's
really based on the
over sixty percent of our business is performance oriented so
business
outcomes,
right so
you
heard
that we
it's really based on business outcomes right so you heard
increase
click
volume
over
50% of
year
over
that we increased click volume over fifty percent year over year
year.
You know, we tripled
conversion
volume.
That's
actually
the
we tripled conversion volume
inventory
that we
need
to
grow
this
performance
segment
of
our
that's actually the inventory that we need to grow this
business. And
that's driven
by
ML
work,
signals
performance segment of our business and that's driven by
work,
et
cetera.
So we feel
really
ml work signals work etcetera so
good
about
our
headroom
here
in terms
of
ARPU.
we feel really good about our headroom here in terms of arpu
I mean, the, you
know, we'll get a little bit of a little bit of a
met as
ARPU.
There's a lot
of
headroom
between
where
we
i mean the you know if you look at meta's arpu
are
today
and where we
they
are.
And when
there's a lot of headroom between where we are today and where they are
you look at the engagement, we are going to be able to do
we have
of
users, just the role
raw materials are
we
have
in terms
of
and when you look at the engagement of reddit users just the raw materials
engagement,
context.
That I think is a very important
have in terms of engagement context that i think
you
know
gives
us
a lot
of
confidence that we're going to be able to do
we
feel
like
we see
the
opportunity 'cause
because we're
still
mid-flight in
gives us a lot of confidence that we feel like we see the opportunity because we're still mid
our
building.
The other thing I want to do is that we can do
was just going to
saying is that we have
say we're going be able
saying is that we are to to do
is have a lot of things
that we that are going
is
mid flight in our building the other thing i'll just say is that
I
think
that
uh
you
a good
the
you know i think that you know the
The CPU is a very important
you
know grew
more
by
CPMs
than
by
impressions.
and were
cpms grew more by cpms than by
a
impressions and we're a marketplace
marketplace.
You have to remember
for lower funnel
outcomes, you
can
have
CPMs
that
are
triple
have to remember for lower funnel outcomes you can have cpms that are triple digits
digits.
What people are paying for is a lot of
that you can do
for is a lot of people who are not able
is
that
intent
and
that
concerns
to
the
what people are paying for is that intent and that conversion to the outcome
outcome.
And we think we have a
road
that's going to be a good
that continues
deliver on the
that
for
and we think we have a roadmap that continues to deliver on that for advertisers
advertisers.
Your next
question
is from
the
line
of
Josh
Beck
from
your next question is from the line of
Raymond
James.
Your line
is
now
open,
Please
go
josh beck from raymond james your line is now open please go ahead
ahead.
Yeah, so if you're not
thank
for
taking a look at the
yes
thanks for taking the question
the
question.
I wanted
to kind
of
ask
on
some of
the
changes
that
you
i wanted to know kind of ask on some of the the
are
seeing
with within
the
traffic.
changes that you are seeing with within the google's traffic
So, I think that's a good idea.
So,
If you
attribute it to the main thing, you can use
it to USB,
if you attribute to
to
four
updates
to
obviously
the
way
they're
updating
their
four updates to obviously the way they're updating
LLMs.
they obviously
have
a
big, you
shift towards
their llms they obviously have a big you know shift towards
AI.
overviews of
AI.
mode so there's
a
lot
of
compounding
factors. I'm
ai overviews ai mode so there's a lot of
just
curious
if
any
particular you
one
compounding factors i'm just curious if
or
two
stood
out in terms
of
some
any particular one or two stood out in terms of some of the
of
the
traffic.
trends.
And then on
the
pay
user
marketing, sort
certainly
sounds really
the traffic trends and then on the on the paid user marketing
like
the
retention is
improving and you
are
kind
of
it certainly sounds like the retention's improving and you are
encouraged
by
I'm
just
curious
maybe.
kind of encouraged by that i'm just curious maybe
far
could
we
potentially take a look at the
the
paid
user
marketing
is
far could we potentially take
that
something
that you
know
can
start
to
really
lean
in
the paid user marketing is that something that
toward
to
more
heavily
next
year thank
you could start to really lean in toward to more heavily next year thank you
you.
Thanks,
Josh.
thanks josh so
So on the change from
Google,
or
hypothesis
is
twofold.
The biggest
one
on the change from google our hypothesis is twofold
is
that AI
over the
overviews
or AI.
the biggest one is the ai overviews or ai mode
mode.
I think that's a good idea.
Both have
evolved a
both have evolved a lot
lot.
and
particularly
recently
they appear to be a lot of
expanding
them
quite
aggressively and
the
book in
the
US and
particularly recently they appear to be expanding them quite aggressively and they both
outside.
So what
started
at
the end of
as
a
in the u and outside so what started as a feature
feature
is
now
the
full
search
experience.
And at the
minimum it pushes
everyone
down
the
search
is now the full search experience and at the minimum it pushes everyone down
page.
And
then on top of
that,
the experience is a very important
themselves
are
not
traffic.
the search page and then on top of that the experiences themselves are not
drivers.
And so these things
combine
with the
role
this
just
means
has
really shown that the game is a good
traffic drivers and so these things combined with the rollout just means google has really
shifted
shifted in
in
their
relationship
with
the
rest of
the
internet.
There's a second factor that is the same
which is a very important
we
believe the
their relationship with the rest of the internet there's a second factor
are machine
translation
which we believe our machine translated content
content
is
also
being
ranked
lower.
So this primarily would affect the
us outside of the
is also being ranked lower so this primarily would affect us outside the u s
U.S.
What the fuck is
this
isn't
likely,
but
we
don't have to do
what this isn't likely but we don't have
visibility
into
this, is
the sort of algorithm
change
where I would
say,
hey
these things are going to be a little bit
come and
visibility into this is the sort of algorithm change
go.
This appears to be a very good
really
the
rollout
of AI.
where i would say hey these things come and go this appears to be really the
mode.
Uh, and
maybe
a
change
in
the
machine
translation.
the rollout of ai mode and maybe a a change in the machine
or
how
they translate
treat
that.
Reddit has a lot of
however, is a very important
still good
top
search
term in the United
translation or how they treat that reddit however is still a top search
Google.
So this doesn't say
anything about the Google
Internet
consumers demanding
demand
for
term in google so this doesn't say anything about the internet consumers' demand for reddit
Reddit.
People still want to do
Reddit.
It says
Google is not sending them to the
Reddit the way it
they use
used
people still want reddit it's just google is not sending them to reddit the way they used to
to.
Given
our
strategy is
to make sure that we can do
a
direct
given our strategy is to make reddit a direct destination
destination,
this
is
actually in line with the
our
strategy because
is
teaching
people
that if
you want
to
come
Reddit, you need to be able to do
come Red Red Red Red
this is actually in line with our strategy because google is teaching people
to
that if you want to come to reddit you need to come to reddit
Reddit.
I can take
the
paid
marketing
i can take the paid marketing question so
question.
So, you know, we
just
um
started
doing
app
and
install
campaigns
mainly
in the
we just started doing app install
US
And so
it's
it's
early in
terms
of
campaigns mainly in the us and so it's so it's early in terms of scale
scale.
But, you
know, what
we like is
that
they return to
that we have is a very important
lot of the same
seeing is that
the
equivalent to
our
but you know what we like is that the retention that we're seeing is
organic
equivalent to our organic users
users.
So that's
promising.
Now that's still a low
base.
but I only have a lot of
the
work
that
we're doing is
going to be able to
doing
so that's promising now that's still low base so
in
the
core
products
around
fees
and
but all the work that we're doing in the core product around fees and
notifications
and
notifications and personalization
personalization.
you know that should
list
retention
for
all
the
users.
and
hopefully
including
that should lift retention for all the users and hopefully including
the
return of the
on
our on
app
install
campaign.
So it's
early
but
the return on our app install campaign so
we, you
see
scale
there.
Less
known, I
I'd say
out of the
it's early but we see scale there
outside
less known i'd say outside of the u s
U.S.
we
are having a lot
happy
that
our
brand
work
is
driving
we are happy that our brand work is driving efficiency
efficiency
in
App
Install.
So that's
good.
you know so we'll cross
our
full
funnel
approach
for
in app install so that's good so across
us, I
a full funnel approach for us i think
think will
make
sense
because
it
will
drive
efficiency in terms
of
acquiring
those
will make sense because it will drive efficiency in terms of acquiring
app
apt
users.
And you know, I think
we're going to
start with the first
process of the
those app users and i think we're going to start the process of
looking at the
re-engagement
campaigns
for
some of
our
logged
and
app
of looking at reengagement campaigns for some of our logged in
users as
well.
and app users as well so
So, I think that's a good idea.
So
early
but
so
far
the app is a very good
install
shift I
think
has
been
early but so far the app install shift i think has been promising
Yeah, yeah,
You're
next question
is
from
the
line
of
John
Colentoni
your next question is from the line of john colantoni
from
Jeffries.
Your line is now
open.
Please
go
from jefferies
ahead.
Great. Thanks very
for taking my
question.
Just wanted to quickly add a
ask
about
the
logged
in
only
just wanted to quickly ask about the logged in only shift
shift.
Two things
there.
Number one
is are
you
still
gonna
going to
offer
two things there number one is
a
light
version
of
that's
available with the
without
logging
are you still gonna offer a light version of reddit
in.
And just to
confirm
is
that's available without logging in and just to confirm is this
this
just
a
just a test
test
or
are
you
definitively going to test
go this
direction?
or are you definitively going to go this direction
And
second, on
engagement, I
know
the clients
have
continued
and second on engagement i know
into
4Q,
but
curious
if
you're
the clients have continued into 4q but curious if you're seeing
seeing
any
green
shoots
beyond
just
user
count
that
are
worth
highlighting.
any green shoots beyond just user count that are worth highlighting
Thanks.
thanks
Sure. John, thanks for the
questions.
So for logged in
only,
sure john thanks for the questions so for logged in only
part of
the purpose
of
the
task
is
to
answer that
question you
asked.
part of the purpose of the task is to answer that question you
Is there a light version
of
Reddit?
Which is like, what is
the
boundary?
And so we need
to
find
the
is there a light version of reddit which is like what what is the boundary
right
boundary
to
and so we need to find the right boundary to
you
know provide
value
to
the
user.
whether they're
coming
from a
shared
link
or
maybe
from
search
know provide value to the user you know whether they're coming from a shared link or maybe
themselves
or
trying
out
Reddit.
And so I think there will be
a ton of
nuance and
detail
from search themselves or trying out reddit and so i think there will be
a ton of nuance and detail there
there for
us
to
iterate
on.
And so
that's the thing
be
some version of the
accessible for the
for us to iterate on and so that there'll be some
those
moments
before
we
do
that
hard
prompt.
version of reddit accessible for those moments before we do that hard prompt
This is a
test, but we're going to be able to do
we
are going
make a
this
this is a test but we are going to make this transition
transition.
I think the engagement is
important.
The ads
targeting is
i think the engagement is important the
important.
The protecting our
corpus
is very
ads targeting is important the protecting our corpus
very
important.
and it
having
a
firmer
footy
firmer
footing
is very important and having a firmer footy
to
adapt the
regulation
is
also
important.
So there's a lot of reasons for doing
this.
firmer footing to adapt the regulation is also important so there's a lot of reasons for doing this
And at this point
we're
the only
platform
that
does
doesn't do
this. And
so
and at this point we're the only platform that doesn't do this and so
um you know
Reddit has just
evolved so
much that I
think
this
just
meets
the
needs
of
the
time.
you know reddit has just evolved so much i think this just meets the needs of the time
so
So, I think that's a good idea.
So on
engagement, we're
on engagement we're seeing
seeing
lots
of
green
shoots.
So our
work
on
feeds,
which
has
been so much more than a
of the things that we're
our
lots of green shoots so our work on feeds which is
most
important
work this
year,
is
the
engagement
for
new
and
some of our most important work this year is
core
users.
new user
retention
is
upside
significantly
over the course of
improving engagement for new and core users new user retention is up
this
year
and
sequentially.
posts
and
significantly over the course of this year and sequentially posts and comments
comments.
are
up on the
sequentially as
well.
Our corpus is
up the
to
are up sequentially as well our corpus
27
billion
posts
and
comments.
a billion of
those
added in
the last two
is up to twenty seven billion posts and comments billion of those added in the last quarter
quarter.
Time on
site has been a very good
time on-site has been solid
solid.
Where we're seeing mixed
results
is
total
sessions
are
down
because
of
that
decline
in
search
referral
where we're seeing mixed results is total sessions are down the
traffic.
But we're
growing where
it can
counts,
which
is
engaging with the
of that decline in search referral traffic but we're growing where accounts
from
our
app
and
logged
in
which is engagement from our app and logged in users
users.

thank
a
lot.
Maybe on a related
thanks a lot
note,
Phoebe,
maybe
just
talk
maybe on a related note steve maybe just talk about
about
the
opportunity
for
content
licensing you already
have
existing
relationships
the opportunity for content licensing you already had existing relationships with
with
an
open
OpenAI.
and
with
Google for
Gemini. And
with openai and with with google for gemini
since you're you know
testing
logged
in
and and since you're you know testing logged in and
and
planning to
go
down
the
that
route. How do
you are you
thinking
about
continuing
to
license
planning to go down that route how do you how are you thinking about continuing to license the
the
the
the corpus
corpus
to
these
to these partners
partners.
Sure.
sure so
So
thank
you for the
question.
It doesn't
change
um
anything we
mentioned on the
call doesn't
thank you for the question it doesn't change
change
our
perspective
there.
Uh we don't have any
updates to
share, though we're
anything we mentioned on the call doesn't change our perspective there we don't have any updates to share though we're
in
active
discussions.
Um but what's most important is that we're going to be able to do
is that we're
going be
to able to do
is
that
any
deal
we
active discussions but what's most important is that
do
needs
to
advance
our
long
long-term
term
any deal we do needs to advance our long term strategy
strategy and has to be able to do
a
fair
exchange
of
value.
Now these
deals aren't going to be a very important
by the
binary,
has to be a fair exchange of value now these deals aren't binary however
however.
There's a
bunch
of
options.
So on one end,
there's access
for
training, but
then
there's a bunch of options so on one end there's access
there's
also
display and
use
and
products.
for training but then there's also display and use some products
And then on the other hand, there's
more
specific
use of
our
content.
and then on the other end there's more specific uses of our content
So we're only going to
do
what makes it a lot of
sense and it's in
the
best
interest
for
so we're only going to do what makes sense and is in the best interest for reddit
strategically
and
economically.
which
strategically and economically which does
does
potentially
include
not
doing a
deal.
but those conversations are not a good
continue to
potentially include not doing a deal but those conversations continue to progress
progress.

curious
curious if
if
uh
the

reminds me of the
you
the current period reminds you of
of
uh
you
know
any
dynamic
you've
experienced in
the

of
your
thoughts
on
how
any dynamic you've experienced in the past and
kind of your thoughts on how to
to
how
guide
the

to guide the company
and
the
team
through
this
period of
transition
and
and the team through this period of transition
kind
of
balancing
near

and long
long-term
and kind of balancing near term and long term objectives
objectives.
If I could
squeeze just one more

just
curious
if i could squeeze just one more in drew just curious
your

latest thoughts on
on

ARPU
growth
has
been you
user monetization in u s arpu growth
know
really
consistent at
50%
percent
plus.
just you're
has been really consistent at fifty percent plus
your
latest
just your latest thought
thought
on
um
on
that
that that trend
trend. Thank
you.
Thanks for the
questions,
Tom.
thanks for the questions tom so
So
This is a very good
good
of
consequential
time
for
Reddit.
this is a consequential time for reddit
And this period
does
remind
me
of
and this period does remind me of
me
of
about
11
years
ago when
I came to the
back United
the
company
And
we've
had a lot
about eleven years ago when i came back to the company
of
conversations with the
then
about
what
is
and
what
and we've had a lot of conversations then about
is
for and
what is
our
place
in
this
what is reddit and what is reddit for and what is our place in this ecosystem
ecosystem?
And we've been
having
those
conversations at
Red
and we've been having those conversations at reddit recently
recently.
And so Reddit's
mission is to be able to do
create
community
and belong to the
belonging for
everyone in the
on
world.
And while there's
and so reddit's mission is to create community and belonging for everyone in the world
overlap, the world is a very important
between
the
and other
players in the
ecosystem,
whether
we're
talking about the
social
and while there's overlap between reddit and other players in the ecosystem
media
or AI.
whether we're talking about social media or ai search
search.
Fundamentally,
is
communicating with the
and
conversations.
It's a place
for people to
come
fundamentally reddit is communities and conversations
together.
It's a
fun
and
funny
place.
it's a place for people to come together it's a fun and funny place
Uh and it's a a
it's with you through the
throughout
life's
journey.
And
so,
yeah, this is a good
and it's a it's with you throughout life's journey
some over
overlap in
utility and
search
and
and so yeah there's some overlap in utility and search and shopping
shopping.
Uh, but really
Reddit, I
think is
but really reddit i think is a
the
is
a
unique
product
on
the
internet
that
can
play
a
really
significant
role in
is a unique product on the internet that
people's
lives.
And that's why
the RTA
team
we choose
to work with the team is a lot of people
work
can play a really significant role in people's lives and that's why the
at
Reddit,
over
our
peers
is
here.
our team who chooses to work at reddit over our peers is here
and so
And so these are the sorts of
things
that
get
us
really
energized.
One thing I'm
very excited about is that I'm not going to be
about is
that I'm sure if
not going to be
in
the
these are the sorts of things that get us really energized one thing i'm very excited
near to
midterm
are some of
the
product
improvements
from
we're
making
to kind
in the near to mid term are some of the product improvements we're making to
of
realize that we're going to be able to
all of
this.
So there's some fun
stuff we're
doing in the core
kind of realize all of this so there's some fun stuff we're doing in the
app
epic
experience.
that I
think for
both
new and
core
core app experience that i think for both new and core users
users
will
allow
the
user
to
more
consistently
get
to
where
they're
going.
So, if you have a lot of things that are to be a very good thing.
They more
will allow the user to more consistently get to where they're going
consistently
see
the
this trend is a very important
this
is
news, these
are
my
favorite
they more consistently see this is trending this is news these are my favorite subreddits
subreddits, here's my game.
gains. Here's
some video.
videos.
here's my games here's some videos
That sort of
work is a very good
really
exciting
because
it really
I
think,
brings to
life
all
of
that
has to
that sort of work is really exciting because it really i think
offer.
And I think that's one of
the challenges that we have to
brings to life all of that reddit has to offer and i think that's one of the
face
for a lot of
long
time.
is hey, how do you
sell
this
product in
the first
challenges we faced for a long time is hey how do you sell this product in the first session
session when
they're
so
many
things you can
do on
it.
So
yes, we're going to do
be able
seeing
a lot
when there's so many things you can do on so
of
big
evolutions
with
the
yes we're seeing a lot of big evolutions with the
search
ecosystem
changes with
this
transition to
login
in
only.
google search ecosystem changes with this transition to log in only
But alongside the
that, logo is a very good
but alongside that
we're
involved in
the
some
areas
of
the
product that
I
think would
be
really
fun.
and I think
really
great
for
our
we're investing in some areas of the product that i think will be really fun and i think really great for our users
users.
Okay, Drew, the second
question
was
okay drew the second question was
about
monetization in
and
our
archival.
Yeah, that
about RPU.
Look, uh, Tom, I think it's just an
extension
of the
about monetization and arpu yeah about arpu look tom i think it's just an extension
journey we've
been talking
about
before.
I I
think
the
ARCU
potential
of
is
as good
the
of the journey we've been talking about before i think the arpu potential of reddit is as
good as anybody
as
anybody.
It
just
we have to
a
number
of
advantages, I
think, as a
platform
that
really
differentiate
it's just we have a number of advantages i think as
us.
I think it starts with the same
what
Jen
was talking
about, which
is
platform that really differentiate us i think it starts
outcomes and
getting
the
most
making
with what jen was talking about which is outcomes and getting the most
every
impression
work
hard.
and I think that's what we've been
really
successful
making every impression work hard and i think that's what we've been really successful
at.
But if I think about the raw
materials
of
Reddit, I think it's a very good
really
we're going to be able to do
in the middle of the
a couple
at but then if i think about the raw materials of reddit i really think we're advantaged in a couple of ways we've
ways.
We've been talking about this for a long
time. It's
just now
come
into
to
fruition in terms
of
those
words coming
to
been talking about this for a long time it's just now coming to fruition in terms of
life.
But
look, I think that's a good
for the first
different
differentiation
perspective,
our consumers are a very good
is
just
those words coming to life but look i think from a differentiation
perspective our consumer is just different
different
They're
are more
balanced.
they're more
affluent,
they
have
more
purchasing
they're broader they're more balanced they're more affluent
power.
It's just a very
differentiated
consumer.
they have more purchasing power it's just a very differentiated consumer
A lot of our consumers aren't on other
platforms. It
matters.
Like in
And you're seeing
that
a lot of our consumers aren't on other platforms it matters
in
our
financial
results and
then the other piece I'd say again with the
raw
like and you're seeing that in our financial results and then
materials, we're going
just
naturally
commercial. I mean
so many of
the other piece i'd say again with the raw materials we're just naturally commercial
the you
subreddits
themselves
organize
into
things
like
i mean so many of the subreddits themselves organize into things like
skiing
and
travel,
which
monitors
themselves so
many of
the
skiing and travel which monetize themselves
descriptions
and kind
conversations
have
you know sort
of
inherent
roots
in
so many of the descriptions and conversations have
commercialization.
I think
again, the platform
has
have sort of inherent roots in commercialization
context,
right?
You're not
putting it
an
ad
in front of
a video.
that doesn't have a lot of
i think again the platform has context right you're not
make
any
sense. You
understand
and
really
putting an ad in front of a video that doesn't make any sense you understand and really have
have kind
of
the
raw
materials to
be
successful
there.
So I really think that
at the end of the
day,
it's
about what
genes
was talking
about, which
the raw materials to be successful there so i really think at the end the day it's about what jen was talking about
is
outcomes
That's really what we're
focusing
focused
I think that's a good
But I do think that we're going to be able to do
we
continue to do
see sort
is outcomes that's really what we're focused on but i do think we can
of
the
advantage
of
the
platform
which are
the
raw
materials
around you
to see sort of the advantages of the platform are the raw materials around
know a
differentiated
consumer
and
a
really
naturally
commercial
a differentiated consumer and a really naturally commercial platform
platform.
You're not going to be able to do

Great, Steve.
thanks to
Thanks for
taking the
question.
I wanted to
ask a little bit about
the
more
i wanted to ask
just
ask a little bit more just about
about
converting
or
making
more of a
daily
habit in the
process
of
converting
the
to
wows
to
dows
converting or making reddit more of a daily habit in the process of converting the wow's to thousand
and we talked a
lot
about
clearly
the
search
issues.
externally,
but if
you
could
we talked a lot about clearly the search issues externally but
focus
just
more
on
the
internal
products a little
bit
more,
the
deck
talks
about you
if you could focus just more on the internal products a little bit more
know
changes to
the
feed
that
are
personalization.
the deck talks about changes to the feed
we've talked
about
search
and
answers in the
past
So help
us
better personalization we've talked about search and and answers in the past so
understand a
little
bit
more
just how to do
the
how
will
we
convert
the
wow
to
dows
help us understand a little bit more just how the how will we convert the wow's to tails here
here. Thank
thank you
you.
Thanks for the
question,
Ron.
So this is what I was starting to get
at in
thanks for the question ron so
my
last
answer.
Now, long term,
or
medium
term I
is what i was starting to get at in my last answer now
think it'll be
would
it easier to
show
not
long term or medium term i think it'll be easier to show and not tell
tell.
But
today the
core Reddit
experience
is
a few of the things that we
a
but today the core reddit experience is a feed
feed.
And it's a feed of
posts.
and those posts are a
all
have
a
it's a feed of posts and those posts all have
a
different
content
types,
You might be looking at
a lot of
link, a
text, video
the
different content types right you might be looking at a link a text video
subreddit might be, you
happy
or
profound,
funny
or
deep.
the subreddit might be you know happy or profound funny or deep so
So it's all
in
one
place.
so one of the
things I've done is that I'm going to
we're working on right
now
is adding a lot of
it's all in one place and so one of the things that we're working on right now is
more
organization
to
the
feed.
so
adding more organization to the feed so that
that
posts
for
a
similar
job and a
similar
content
type and a similar type of
mood
are
posts for a similar job and a similar content type
grouped
together.
so that
you
more
consistently get a little bit
what you
you're looking
for when you're looking at the
you
a similar mood are grouped together so that you more consistently get what you're looking
open
for when you open the app
the app.
Right?
so I, you know, in a core
user, you know, I might open
the
app
I
want to
know what's going
on.
right so i you know in a core user you know i might open the app so i wanna know what's going
I might want to have a few
locks. I might
be looking at the
for a lot of
game.
or
episode
thread for
the
show I
i might wanna have a few laughs i might be looking for the game or episode thread for the show i watch
last night
watched last
night. I might be in a moo lean back
mood for videos.
I might be in a lean back
leaned in
mood for games.
i might be in a lean back mood for videos
things like
that.
So I
i might be in a lean in mood for games things like that so i think
think
that's a good
able
to
find these
things
very
quickly when
you
know
they're
there,
that's
what
being able to find these things very quickly when you know they're there
gives people a lot of
confidence to
open the app as a
daily
habit.
that's what gives people confidence to open the app as a daily
because I know what my experience is going to
be.
And so I think if we get
something, I think that's a good
habit because i know what my experience is going to be and so i think if we get something
something
that
is a little bit
a little
less grab
from
where we
are
today.
Here's a feed of
lot
that is a little little less grab baggy from where we are today
a crazy
stuff to something that's more
consistent.
that's how we can
drive
here's a feed of a lot of crazy stuff to something that's more consistent
that
daily
that's how we can drive that daily habit
habit. That's how it converts
those
wows to the
dows.
And I think this will make the
app
what converts those wows to dials and i think this will make the app
more
more
easier
to
easier to understand
to
understand
natively to a
new
user.
Because we can actually just label
these
things. Here is
trending, here is
here's
natively to a new user because we're gonna actually just label these things
news
Here's some
games.
here's
some
memes.
Now, we've got to build
this
thing
here's trending here's news here's some games here's some memes
in
and test
now we've got to build this thing and test it
it.
and I think there will
be
a lot
of
iteration.
but I think
really
i think there'll be a lot of iteration but i think really embracing
embracing
all
of
the
different
jobs
that
the
app
all of the different jobs that the app does
does.
intentionally is
how
we
can
develop
more
of
this
daily
habit.
intentionally is how we can develop more of this daily habit
I'm very
excited about
this because we've been
thinking about
this for a
long
so i'm very excited about this because we've been thinking about this for a long time
long
time.

Thanks
much
so
for
taking the
questions.
Steve, I wanted to ask
about
thanks so much for taking the questions
the
traffic.
that's
leaving
from
Google.
And so what I'm trying to
steve i wanted to ask about the traffic that's leaving from
understand
is
what
you
can
do
to
either
develop
the
app
or
google and so what i'm trying to understand is what you can do to either develop the app or
push
on
certain
use
cases
that
are going
to
be
sticky.
And so is there anything
that
you
can
explain to
on certain use cases that are gonna be sticky and so is there anything that you can explain to us
us
about
the
traffic
that's
leaving?
are they looking
for
more
informational
type
of
about the traffic that's leaving are they looking for more informational
type of posts
posts.
are
it
is
just
a
broad
kind
or it is it just a broad based kind of
of
lack
of
exposure that
you're
getting
from
Google.
lack of exposure that you're getting from google and then jen as we think about
And then, Jen, as we think about the renewal,
coming
up,
for
the renewals coming up for twenty twenty seven
2027.
In
the
conversations
that you're
having
with Abu
that
are
more
brand-based,
are
you
in the conversations you're having with advertisers that are more brand based
seeing
any
conversations around the
around
advertisers trying
to
get
into
are you seeing any conversations around
advertisers trying to get into pretraining
pre-training
were
or
is
really
a
way
to
get
into
their
corpus
of
data.
What is
where reddit is really a way to get into their corpus of data what is that
What is
that
influence
in terms
of
thinking
about
the
renewals?
for
the
next
year? Thanks so
influence in terms of thinking about the renewals for the next year
much.
So
so
thank
for
the
questions,
Andrew.
So on
Google, let
me
start with the first
second
part.
like what is the
thanks for the questions andrew so on google let me start with the second part like what is the
change
change?
So let me tell you
what
didn't
change.
The word
is
still
among
the
most
searched
so let me tell you what didn't change the word reddit is
words
on
Google.
So this says that
the
still among the most searched words on google
demand
for reducing the
hasn't
changed from
the
Internet
consumer.
so this says that demand for reddit hasn't changed from the internet consumer
Also, Google
is quite a bit of a good
the
us as far
hard we
ever.
So the demand
hasn't
changed
from
their
point of
view
also is crawling us as hard as ever so the demand hasn't changed from their point of view either
either.
The reality is that the demand is a very important
that
the reality is
the
the
AI
mode does
not
drive traffic.
ai mode does not drive traffic
Not for
us and not for
to
anybody
as
far
I
as
know.
And so it's just a
fundamental
not for us and not to anybody as far as i know and so that's just a fundamental shift
shift in how Google
works.
It used to be a traffic
driver, now it's a
not.
in how google works it used to be a traffic driver now it's not
So now that's a very good
so now that
that
she's a little bit of a
the
equation for
sure.
Um but it's not that the user
want
changes the equation for sure but it's not that the users want less
less.
it's just that
they're getting
it's just that they're getting
it.
Now on the other hand, it's a very good
side of the
that, they're not going to be able
that, what are the
sticky
use of the
cases for next
now on the other side of that what are the sticky use cases for reddit
Reddit?
well
Well,
is
the
best place to do
see what's going
reddit is the best place to see what's going on
on.
has the
best place to see
I
think,
conversations of the
about
whatever
you
did last
reddit has the best i think conversations about whatever you did last night
night.
What show did
you
watch?
What game did you
watch?
Uh we've
what show did you watch what game did you watch we've got
got
totally
unique
content,
right? About
every
hobby in your
totally unique content right about every hobby interest
interest,
passion,
life
stage.
And so what I was talking
about is that I'm going to be able
about in
my
previous
passion life stage and so what i was talking about in my previous answer
answer
is
just
making
those
experiences
much
more
consistent.
So when you
n open
the app,
you
is just making those experiences much more consistent
know what
you're going to
get.
I think this will
benefit
the
so when you open the app you know what you're gonna get i think this will benefit
core
and
new
users
the core and new users alike
alike.
Now
that
alongside
that
now that alongside that our
our
work
on
feeds
is
driving
work on feeds is driving results
results.
starting
now.
And
so
just
simply
starting now and so just simply
you
know
we've
you know we've grown
grown
by an
order
of
magnitude
the amount
of
signal
that
goes
into
our
models,
the
size of size of size of
the
our
by an order of magnitude the amount of signal that goes into our models the
models.
we've
dramatically reduced the
time it
takes
to
size of our models we've dramatically reduced the time it takes to
train
new
models
to deploy new
models.
All of
these
things have
I've
grown
train new models to deploy new models all of these things have grown
significantly in the last
few
couple of
quarter.
And we've
got a
whole
what's
call
it
another
significantly in the last quarter and we've got a whole
year
of
runway
there.
So
just the
feed
itself,
right
now is a lot of
let's call it another year of runway there so just the feed it's
driving
more
engagement
for
new
and
core
users.
itself right now is driving more engagement for new and core users so
So I think there's short
work we can
continue to
continue to
do on
the
feed.
and I think a lot
i think there's short term work we continue to do on the feed and i think a lot of
of exciting
product
work
that will
make
this
kind
of
sticky
or
daily
use
exciting product work that will make this kind of sticky or daily use cases
cases
more
effective on
more effective on reddit
Reddit.
Okay, so Jen, the second
question
okay so jen the second question is
is
brand
brands
and
free
pre-training?
Yeah, I was gonna
going to ask just a little
for
clarification.
do you
brands and pre training yeah i was gonna
mean are you referring to the
like
the
idea
of
brands
wanting
ask just for a clarification do you mean are you referring to like the idea of
to
come
to
Reddit to
be
on
to kind
of show
up
in
LLMs? Is
brands wanting to come to reddit to be on reddit
to kinda show up in llms is that
that?
Yeah, I think that's a good idea.
Yeah,
correct.
yeah correct
Okay.
Yeah, so um so
look, I'm gonna go ahead and do
the
okay yeah so
reason
it
comes
and
in
advertise
on
Reddit,
we
say
this
really
clearly,
is
so look the reason to come and advertise on reddit we say this
to
come
for
the
engaged
audience
and
to
get
competitive
really clearly is to come for the engaged audience and to get competitive outcomes
outcomes.
to grow
your
business.
That's
scalable.
it's
repeatable,
it's
to grow your business right that's scalable it's
measured, it's
a little
measured it delivers
delivers
more and
more
ROI.
And that is why advertisers come to the
us and why
they're
growing
their
share of
wallet for
more and more roi and that is why advertisers come to us and why they're growing their share of wallet
us. It's
like that core
proposition
for
reaching the
us it's like that core proposition for reaching the reddit audience
audience.
I think that's a good question.
Um I I think there's been
this idea of the idea of
like
TEO
i i think there's been this you know idea of like ceo or
or
you know
kind
of
organic
et
cetera.
you know kind of organic etcetera and
And I wasn't saying
we've
been
very
open about
this with
our
partners, like we're
pretty
skeptical
of
i was just saying we've been very open about this with our partners like
GEO.
Reddit itself is
pretty
inoculated
to
we're pretty skeptical of geo reddit itself is pretty inoculated to like
like
manipulation, I would
say.
and yes, it
that it's a good
to
spend time with
the
right
manipulation i would say and yes it is good to
audience
and
have
more
fans and
more
customers
within
by
spend time with the reddit audience and have more fans and more customers within reddit by
using
our
scalable
marketing
platform to
get them
those
outcomes because they
might talk about the
using our scalable marketing platform to get those outcomes
you
and
you
know
when
would
need
customers
in the
order
to have a lot of
that
experience.
But
because they might talk about you and you would need customers in order to have that experience
that's
not
the
primary
reason
our advertisers
come to the best of the
us.
The reason why they
work with
us is that we have to do
but that's not the primary reason our advertisers come to us
us
is
because
of
reaching
that
high
highly
engaged
the reason why they work with us is because of reaching that
highly engaged audience
audience
where
they're
able
to
get
business out of the
outcomes
from
our
marketing
platform.
where they're able to get business outcomes from our marketing platform
So
it's
not
in
our
partnerships
so it's not in our partnerships today
today.
You know, it's
not
a core
piece
of what
we
do with
our
advertising
partners
it's not a core piece of what we do with our advertising partners
today
today.
I think that's a good idea.
I understand from their point of
view it's
something
broadly
that
they're
thinking
about
because
they're
also
dealing with the
i understand from their point of view it's something broadly that they're
changes in
the
broader
search
I think that's a good
But it's
just
not
a part of
the
about because they're also dealing with changes in the broader search landscape
but it's just not a part of
the
what we're
of
not a centerpiece of what we're doing
doing.

Um
hello sorry about that
my question is for
Stephen.
Uh Stephen at the
conference a couple of years
days
months
ago,
you
my question is for steven steven at the conference
said
that
down
the
road
you
can
a couple of months ago you said that down the road
see
Red
making
some
acquisitions
to
help
you
you can see reddit making some acquisitions
expand
the use of
the
base.
So I was wondering if I was a good
you're going to be able to do
you
to help you expand the user base
if could tell us a little bit about
more
what kind
of
so i was wondering if you could tell us a little more what kind of company
company
could
do
that for
you.
could do that for you and
and um
it's a very good
there
that the majority of the
something you can
more of
a
priority
now that
given
how
the
trends
have
been
is that something more of a priority now that given how the
playing
out
since
you
said
that. Thank
trends have been playing out since you said that thank you
you.
All right. Thanks for the
question.
So when we think
about
MNA, we have to do
and
so when i think about m and a
there
are
there are
a lot
couple
of
possible
objectives.
What we've done
historically has
a couple of possible objectives what we've done historically has been
been
small
to
medium
medium-sized
teams
plus
their
small to medium sized teams plus their tech
tech.
We've not done
a series of
serious
acquisition
for
users.
and that's
not
on
our
radar right
we've not done a serious acquisition for users
now.
The
best way to do that is that we can use the same
way to do is
for us that use
to
grow
users
and that's not on our radar right now the best way for us to grow users
is
to
is to
capture
the
opportunity to use
that we have to
right
on
our
to capture the opportunity that we have right on our doorstep
doorstep.
We
we have
have three major
channels
even
today.
The first is our
unattributed
three major channels even today the first is our unattributed downloads
downloads.
We see a
ton
of
unattributed
downloads
every
day.
So these are
people basically
word
of
we see a ton of unattributed downloads every day so these are people
mouth
users who
are in the middle of the
interested
in
trying
basically word-of-mouth users who are interested in trying reddit
Reddit.
And
and so
so that is why I'm going to do
we
have been
so focused on the
New
user
retention.
Now,
that is why we have been so focused on new user retention now we
we really
moved the
needle
here and I think
we
have
a place to do
of
room
to
go.
But new user attention
is
really moved the needle here and i think we have plenty of room to go
but new user retention is up
up.
over
50%
year on
year.
So providing those users
a
better
over fifty percent year on year so providing those users a better experience
experience.
Second, Reddit
has a
large number of
reinstalls every
second reddit has a large number of reinstalls every day
day.
And so we think that's a good
this is very
users coming
for a
particular type
of
content and
and so we think this is users coming for a particular type
then
uninstalling
Reddit when
they're
done.
And so we think
adding
an increase in
content and then uninstalling reddit when they're done and so we think adding
mode
basically is a good
private
browsing
mode in
our
app will
help
mitigate
this
I think that's a good
So,
an incognito mode basically a private browsing mode in our app will help mitigate this effect
And then finally, we've got a lot of the same
and then finally we've got
got
the
conversion
from
mobile
web for
the
search
referred
users.
the conversion from mobile web for the search referred users
While the search referrals are in
decline,
they're still in the
a lot of things that are
them.
And so we've been
driving that
while the search referrals are in decline there's still a lot of them
conversion for the last
couple of
quarters.
I think that's a good idea.
so we've been driving that conversion for the last couple of quarters
And as
I mentioned in my
script,
and as i mentioned in my script we're
we're
this quarter is a very important
only
this quarter only showed
showed
that
conversion
prompts
about
thirteen
of
the
eligible
audience
there.
so there's plenty of
room
to
scale.
that conversion prompt about thirteen percent of the eligible audience there so there's plenty of room to scale
So I
think
before we start to do that, I'm going to go ahead
with the screen, we can see
about
on the
about
using acquisition, we can use the same
to
grow
so i think before we start thinking about using acquisition to grow users
users.
We need to
make
our
product the most important
effective
way
to
grow
users
because the
we need to make our product the most effective way to grow users because the opportunities
opportunities
are
are
basically
at
scale and on
our
doorstep.
and
basically at scale and on our doorstep and they're
they're very,
very
large.
It's hard to move the
needle
against
the
results we'll
see
very very large it's hard to move the needle against the results we'll see through
through
you
know
even
small
improvements
to
new
user
even small improvements to new user retention
retention.
You're not

Oppenheimer. Your line

Please go to the

Thanks. Appreciate
you,
giving us this
heads
up
thanks appreciate you again giving us this heads up that
that you
your
you're
testing
logged
in
only
but you
know
but
it
is
the
you're testing logged in only but
plan.
So I guess as we're
all
sitting
here
saying,
what does it
kind
of
the
but it is the plan so i guess as we're all sitting here saying what
modeling look
does kind of the modeling look like
like
in
that
world
whenever
whenever it does
in that world whenever it does happen
happen.
um,
I
mean
obviously
you're
you
know
the
effective
ARPU
from
a lot of
logged in
user
obviously
obviously the effective arpu from a logged in user
math,
map would
becomes a
lot
higher
obviously becomes a lot higher but
but
is
there
just
a way to do
that you can use the
is there just a way to
to
kind
of
help
kind of help us
us
because you
know
how
we
should
be
thinking
about
it do
we
because how we should be thinking about it do we go
go,
okay, you
know,
logged
in
okay logged in as
is
you
know,
twenty
fi twenty percent
of
DAU and
then we
have
our
own
version
of
percent of dau and then we have our own version of a
a
logged
in
ARPU.
How do you want
us to think about
logged in arpu how do you want us to think about that
I think
that's a good question.
Because we're all going to be doing
And
then
second, I
mean,
should we do
now assume
that
because we're all going to be doing that and then second i mean
if
you
go
logged
in
you
will
should we now assume that if you go logged in you will make
make
red
and
not
reddit not scrapable
scrapable.
and
I
guess
talk
about
the
implications
of
and i guess talk about the implications of that
that.
Okay, thanks for
the
questions.
okay thanks for the questions look
Look, the reason we're doing
the
test
is
to
learn the
answers to
through
these
the reason we're doing the test is to learn the answers to these questions
questions.
So we know
logged
in
users engage in the
my
much
more,
And we've mentioned this a couple of
so we know logged in users engage much more
times on
the
this
call.
80% of our
revenue
over 80% of our
revenue comes out of the
and we've mentioned this a couple times on this call eighty percent of our revenue
from
logged
in
users.
So growing
that
base
is
very,
over eighty percent of our revenue comes from logged in users so
very
important.
Making Reddit
logged
in
only
will assure
assuredly
growing that base is very very important making reddit logged in only will
grow
that
base.
But what the
conversion rate
is
over time is the
we
just
don't
know.
assuredly grow that base but what the conversion rate is over time we just don't know
That's why we have to do
the
that's why we have to do the work
work.
um and that's why we have
to test the
like
where's
the
right
spot
to
draw
these
boundaries?
and that's why we have to test like where's the right spot to draw these boundaries
Each of our peers has a lot of
had
of
success doing
this,
but
they all have to do
it in the same
slightly
different
each of our peers have had a lot of success doing this but they all do it in slightly different ways
ways.
and I'm
sure
we
will
find
the
way that
makes
the
most
sense for
Reddit.
and i'm sure we will find the way that makes the most sense for reddit
Will this
make
harder to
will this make reddit harder to scrape
scrape?
For
sure.
That is one of the
reasons.
It's not
impossible, but
again,
for sure that is one of the reasons it's
all over
of
our peers are not a very important part of the
have
done
this for a
long
time for
this
not impossible but again all of our peers have done this for a long time for this reason
reason.
And Reddit with
its
extremely
valuable
corp
corpus,
this
and reddit with its extremely valuable corpus
change
is
really
important
to protect
access
to
that
data and
make
this change is really important to protect
access to that data and make it
it
and
make
it
intentional.
So, like I
said,
we're going to have to do
this.
but
and make it intentional so like i said we're going to do this
the effect is going to be a good
on
the
ecosystem will have to
be
test that's why we're
doing
the
but the effects on the ecosystem we'll have to test that's why we're doing the test
test.

Hey
guys,
thanks for the
question.
Sorry, that's a hard
harp on
this
hey guys thanks for the question sorry
overly,
but
just
to
sorry not to harp on this overly but just to understand
understand
uh
as
you talk about
test
this
on
the
log
out
users
is
so
the
expectation of
as you test this on the logged out users is
that
over
time
that
gets to
zero
or
close
to
so the expectation that over time that gets
zero.
I know a lot of it
comes
from
the
testing and what
w
happens.
to zero or close to zero i i know a lot of it comes from the testing and what what happens
but is that
But is that
the
expectation you
we
get
some
percent
that
will
convert, you
know
an expectation you got some percent that will convert to
to
willing
to
log
in and
some
that
the
fall
off.
And then
on
willing to log in and some that fall off and then on the
the
and
AI.
O
overviews
and
sending traffic.
I think that's a good
you
know, one of the things that I'm going to do
of
the
things we
saw yesterday was a lot of
google and ai reviews and sending traffic out
is
pressure
on
Google's
ad
you know one of the things we saw yesterday is you know pressure
revenue
driven
by
this,
right? And
so
you know they're
seeing
an
impact on
from
on google's ad revenue driven by this right and so
this as
well. And they
talked
about
starting
to
monetize
more
putting
more
ads
you know they're they're seeing an impact from this as well and they talked about starting to monetize
and
ultimately
unless
the
entire sort
of
putting more ads and ultimately unless the entire sort of
uh quid
throw
quote
for
for
Google's ad
product
quid pro quo for google's ad product changes
changes.
sending traffic out of the
to
web
is
an
important
part of the
how
they
monetize
sending traffic out to the web is an important part of how they monetize too
too.
Do do
you is there
a
scenario down
the
line
where
you
do do you is there a scenario down the line where where you see
see, you
that sort of
coming
back the
pendulum
swinging
back a little
bit and
that
can
be
a
benefit for
that sort of coming back the pendulum swinging back a little bit and that can be a benefit
you
guys. Thank
for you guys thank you
you.
Okay, so
question
one, logged
out
okay so question one logged out users
users.
Does it go to
zero
or
close to the
zero?
But I can't tell
you.
Um I think
does it go to zero or close to zero look i can't tell you
we'll
always have to do
some of
amount.
Maybe
this
is a little bit more than
of
the
second
answer.
I think we'll always have
some
amount
of
i think we'll always have some amount maybe this is a little bit of a second answer i think we'll always have
traffic
from
either
search
referrals, I
mean
sharing
we'd
love
to
really
grow
amount of traffic from either search referrals
that.
So that's kind of by
its
nature
logged
out
at
first.
i mean sharing we'd love to really grow that so that's kind of by its nature logged out at first
Front page traffic.
right?
People
curious
about
Reddit.
So we'll always have
that completely
component.
front page traffic right people curious about reddit so we'll always have that component
But I
but i think
think
when
we look at the computer, we're going
components, we can do
the
at
business over the
we have to do
long
when we look at the business over the long term
term,
or
even
shorter,
we
would
expect
app
or even shorter we would expect app
and
logged
in
and
total
So, I think that's a good
to provide lot
probably
more or
less
and logged in and total dao to probably more or less converge
converge.
You know, plus or
you know plus or minus
minus
some
small
percent.
because that's just where the
core of
our product
is and so
that's
where
we're
going
to
be
driving
some small percent because that's just where the core of our product is and so that's where we're going to be driving people
people.
So, we're going to have a lot of things that are going to be a very important thing for AI.
overviews and traffic,
for ai overviews and traffic look
look, we don't have to do
consider
control
Google. We
only
control
Reddit they've
made so
many
changes.
and I
we don't control google we only control reddit they've made so many changes
expect
there's
more to be
come.
and i expect there's more to come
You know, like I said, AI
overviews or AI.
mode.
it's
just
not a
traffic
you know like like i said ai overviews or ai mode
driver.
it's just not a traffic driver so
So
you know we're
you know we're not
not
We're
not
counting
on
that.
We make no
assumption
about
where
that
goes or
doesn't
go in
the
we're not counting on that we make no assumption about where that goes or doesn't go in the future
future.
What's most
important
is making sure that you're going to be able to do
that
what's most important is making sure that reddit is
is
a
direct
sticky
daily
destination.
and that's all
the
work that we're
we've
mentioned
on
this
a direct sticky daily destination and that's all the work that we've mentioned on this call
call.
That's what we can
control.
Our work there is
working so that we can work on the same
so
far.
and so I feel that we can do
very
good about
it.
that's what we can control our work there is working so far and so i feel very good about it
I think that's a good idea.
and
And you know, we'll
let the rest of the
ecosystem you know
evolve at the
it
as
know we'll let the rest of the ecosystem you know evolve as it will
will.
Your last

Thanks for

for
taking
question.
Just curious
if there's anything to do with
the
call
out
this is for doug thanks for taking the question just
on
3Q
revenue
growth.
just given
the
curious if there's anything to call out on 3q revenue growth
upside just a little
bit
less
than
what
we've
seen
from
you
guys and
in
prior
quarters.
just given the upside was a little bit less than what we've seen from you guys in prior quarters
whether that's a
function
of
users
and
inventory
or
anything
else to
call
out
whether that's a function of users and inventory or anything else to call out there
there.
thanks
Thanks.
Look, I think it's a very good
the
uh I think
third question is that I'm going to use the
quarter is a little bit more than a
was good
look think the third quarter was
a
good
one.
a good one
Uh we
grew through
53%.
but not a lot
of
companies
growing in
at
fifty-three
three
percent. You know,
grew fifty three percent but not a lot of companies growing at fifty three percent
we're we
still
enter the
quarter with about
50% of
our
business
booked and so
we still enter the quarter with about fifty percent of our business booked
we're
making
estimates
about
what
we're going to
get and
not
get
in
the
quarter.
and so we're making estimates about what we're going to get and not get in the quarter
I think as Jennifer is going to be a very
said in the middle of the year, we
quarter
best of
bitterness
demand
was
very,
strong. I
think
there
are a couple
of unique things that are going to be a very important
i think as jen said in the quarter the demand was very very strong
dynamics
within
the
third
quarter.
particularly since
September is
i think there are a couple of unique dynamics within the third quarter
very
strong.
Demand is very
concentrated in the third
quarter of
to
particularly september is very strong the demand is very concentrated in the third quarter september
September.
And then if you double-click
on
September, there
were
some
days
that
we
had
that
were
particularly
strong.
So there
and then if you double click on september there were some days that we had that were particularly strong
was you
some
bookings that we
weren't able to
deliver
on
a couple of
days.
but but
so there was some bookings that we weren't able to deliver
overall,
no, it's a good
quarter for
us.
We're
happy with
at the
on a couple of days but overall no it's a good quarter for us
momentum was
strong and
it's
Gen
Jen
said
from day to
one
day
ninety
the
demand
was very
we're happy with it the momentum was strong and as jen said from day one to day ninety the demand was very
strong in
the the
strong in the quarter
quarter.
There's a lot of
no further
questions at the
this
there are no further questions at this time
this
time.
I would now like to ask you to ask
turn the
