Earnings call · FedEx Wed Oct 28, Saidwire live coverage archive https://saidwire.com/archive/earnings-fdx-oct28 STORY (final version) FedEx raises 2026 profit outlook to $18.00-$18.60 a share, sees U.S. margin pressure as 'transitory' Executives said a $2 billion buyback pace, about $4 billion in free cash flow and strong international results offset trucking-cost and pilot-contract headwinds that will weigh on fourth-quarter U.S. margins. FedEx raised and tightened its calendar 2026 adjusted earnings outlook to $18.00 to $18.60 per share on Tuesday after third-quarter adjusted earnings of $3.74 per share, up 28% from a year earlier, and introduced an adjusted free cash flow outlook of about $4 billion. Executives said U.S. domestic margin pressure in the fourth quarter is temporary and committed to a higher full-year U.S. domestic margin in 2027. QUARTER RESULTS AND OUTLOOK Third-quarter revenue rose 12%, including a four-percentage-point boost from fuel-driven surcharges, CEO Raj Subramaniam said. Consolidated adjusted operating income rose $164 million, or 16%, despite a $100 million hit from a new pilot agreement and a $75 million increase in variable incentive compensation, according to a FedEx executive on the call. International adjusted operating income climbed $101 million, or 52%, with 80 basis points of margin expansion. U.S. domestic adjusted operating income rose $67 million, or 7%, but margin fell 20 basis points, including a 30-basis-point drag from higher fuel prices. FedEx expects 2026 revenue growth of about 12% and a slight rise in full-year adjusted operating margin. The company expects fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of $6.30 to $6.63 per share and a fourth-quarter average share count of about 238 million. FOURTH-QUARTER HEADWINDS For the fourth quarter, FedEx said it expects U.S. domestic adjusted operating margin to be down moderately year over year. It cited $130 million from higher over-the-road line haul rates, $100 million from the pilot agreement and $80 million in aircraft maintenance expense. The company attributed the trucking costs largely to tightness in the truck driver labor market tied to regulatory changes. "Importantly we believe this pressure is transitory," a FedEx executive said, adding that the company forecasts a full-year 2027 U.S. domestic margin increase. The executive said about 70% of over-the-road line haul miles are covered by FedEx employees or contracted service providers, and just over 10% are purchased over-the-road miles. Subramaniam said the company has operational and pricing levers to address the costs. FedEx also said variable compensation should not be a headwind in 2027. It said reaching the top of the earnings range could add up to $100 million in variable compensation expense. CAPITAL RETURNS AND FREIGHT STAKE FedEx repurchased $2 billion of stock since June and has $4.3 billion remaining under its buyback authorization. Executives reiterated a $6 billion adjusted free cash flow target by the end of 2029 and expect $3.9 billion in 2026 capital spending. FedEx must monetize its 19.9% retained stake in FedEx Freight within 24 months of the spin-off date to preserve the separation's tax-efficient status, a FedEx executive said. Executives gave no specifics on how the stake would be sold or how the proceeds would be used beyond saying the capital would be deployed to maximize shareholder value. PEAK SEASON AND INTERNATIONAL Domestic parcel executive Brie Carere said FedEx's top 30 customers, which drive about 35% of its peaking factor, forecast roughly 2% average daily volume growth for the peak period. She said small-business volume grew faster than large customers in the third quarter and that FedEx expects "a strong service peak and a strong profit peak." Subramaniam said FedEx remains on track for an 8% international operating margin in 2029 and called that "only a waypoint" toward double digits. He said the company expects $650 million of operating profit improvement in Europe by 2029, mostly from cost reduction, and is cutting domestic capacity in Italy, the U.K. and France. [6:05:37 PM ET] tricia thank you for the question i'll cover pricing and then i'll turn it over to claude [6:05:41 PM ET] from a headline perspective, we continue to see that calendar 20. [6:05:41 PM ET] answer the second part of your question i think from a headline [6:05:45 PM ET] perspective we continue to see that calendar year twenty six [6:05:45 PM ET] 26 has an improved pricing environment over calendar year 2016. [6:05:49 PM ET] has an improved pricing environment over calendar year twenty twenty five it is [6:05:49 PM ET] 25 is competitive but rational. From a yield perspective, [6:05:53 PM ET] perspective here in the United States, we were very pleased with the base yield. [6:05:53 PM ET] competitive but rational from a yield perspective here in the united [6:05:57 PM ET] states we were very pleased with the base yield growth which was about half [6:05:57 PM ET] yield growth, which was about half of our year over year yield grows in the domestic. [6:06:01 PM ET] domestic niggas. Of that half, the best majority. [6:06:01 PM ET] of our year over year yield growth in the domestic mix of that half [6:06:05 PM ET] the vast majority of it was actually base yield we did benefit [6:06:05 PM ET] of it was actually base yield. We did benefit a little bit. [6:06:09 PM ET] from some self-help in the mix. And what do I mean by that? [6:06:13 PM ET] from some self help in the mix and what do i mean by that we [6:06:13 PM ET] consciously focused on premium e-commerce. So when you look at the home. [6:06:17 PM ET] delivery and ground economy volume, it's really important to understand that the ground economy. [6:06:17 PM ET] consciously focused on premium ecommerce so [6:06:17 PM ET] when you look at the home delivery and ground economy volume mix [6:06:21 PM ET] it's really important to understand that the ground economy volume was down four percent [6:06:21 PM ET] economy volume was down four percent, and that was intentional. [6:06:25 PM ET] really lean into the premiums. So we feel really good about the domestic. [6:06:25 PM ET] and that was intentional as we really lean into the premium so [6:06:29 PM ET] we feel really good about the domestic [6:06:29 PM ET] domestic pricing environment. When you look at the international [6:06:33 PM ET] export yield increase, it was also really strong. [6:06:33 PM ET] pricing environment when you look at the international ex [6:06:37 PM ET] export yield increase it was also really strong [6:06:37 PM ET] About half of that was fuel. Of the other half, you've got two prime. [6:06:41 PM ET] primary factors. One was we saw a great mixed shift. [6:06:41 PM ET] about half of that was fuel of the other half you've got [6:06:45 PM ET] two primary factors one was we saw a great mix shift [6:06:45 PM ET] both incremental volumes coming out of Asia, and then again, a focus. [6:06:49 PM ET] focus away from international domestics towards entry Europe. [6:06:49 PM ET] both incremental volume coming out of asia and then again [6:06:53 PM ET] focus away from international domestics towards intra europe [6:06:53 PM ET] and international Europe volumes. So we think the market is. [6:06:57 PM ET] competitive, it's improved over 20-25, and we hear a [6:06:57 PM ET] and international europe volumes so [6:07:01 PM ET] really good about the overall performance from the team. What? No, thanks, Brie. [6:07:01 PM ET] we think the market is competitive it's improved over twenty twenty five [6:07:01 PM ET] and we feel really good about the overall performance from the team [6:07:01 PM ET] claude [6:07:05 PM ET] and thanks for the question. I mean, overall, as Brie said, very pleased with our. [6:07:09 PM ET] our Q3 results. You think about year today, both our overall market. [6:07:09 PM ET] thanks brie and thanks for the question i mean it's [6:07:09 PM ET] brie said very pleased with our q3 results that [6:07:13 PM ET] margin, our domestic margin, and international margin were all up. [6:07:13 PM ET] if you think about year to date both our overall margin our domestic [6:07:17 PM ET] September year to date. I did call out a few things in my prepared remarks. [6:07:17 PM ET] margin and international margin were all up september year to date [6:07:21 PM ET] remarks about the transitory nature of a couple headwinds. First and foremost. [6:07:21 PM ET] i did call out a few things in my prepared remarks about [6:07:25 PM ET] the transitory nature of a couple of headwinds first and foremost for q3 [6:07:25 PM ET] for Q3, the domestic margin would have been up except for. [6:07:25 PM ET] the domestic margin would have been up [6:07:29 PM ET] the fuel surcharge. And then, in addition, we have the $100 million. [6:07:29 PM ET] except for the fuel surcharge [6:07:33 PM ET] then in addition we had the one hundred million dollars headwind from our pilot agreement [6:07:33 PM ET] headwind from our pilot agreement. We had $75 million from Barable. [6:07:37 PM ET] variable compensation, and we started to see the higher purchase transportation. [6:07:37 PM ET] we had seventy five million dollars from variable compensation [6:07:41 PM ET] and we started to see the higher purchase transportation rates that i talked about [6:07:41 PM ET] transportation rates that I talked about. Those will accelerate into Q4. [6:07:45 PM ET] I think it's important to note that about 70% of our oversight. [6:07:45 PM ET] those will accelerate into q4 i think it's important to note that [6:07:49 PM ET] about seventy percent of our over the road line haul miles [6:07:49 PM ET] over the road line haul miles are provided by either federal. [6:07:53 PM ET] or contracted service providers. The remaining 30% is. [6:07:53 PM ET] are provided by either fedex employees or contracted service providers [6:07:57 PM ET] the remaining thirty percent is split between rail [6:07:57 PM ET] split between rail, and then a little over 10% is over the [6:08:01 PM ET] the road. That's really the miles that we're talking about here. [6:08:01 PM ET] then a little over ten percent is over the road that's really the [6:08:05 PM ET] miles that we're talking about here so while not a huge portion of the overall [6:08:05 PM ET] So, while not a huge portion of the overall miles, do [6:08:09 PM ET] due to the labor market conditions we talked about, those rates. [6:08:09 PM ET] miles due to the labor market conditions we talked about [6:08:13 PM ET] really started going higher as we got into Q3, and we expect that to have a bigger. [6:08:13 PM ET] those rates really started going higher as we got into q3 and we expect that to [6:08:17 PM ET] bigger impact during T in Q4. But we have both operational. [6:08:21 PM ET] a bigger impact during peak in q4 but we have both [6:08:21 PM ET] operational and commercial levers as we get into CY27 to address. [6:08:25 PM ET] address that. We're confident both in our overall margin expansion as. [6:08:25 PM ET] operational and commercial levers as we get into cy twenty twenty seven to address [6:08:29 PM ET] that we're confident both in our overall margin [6:08:29 PM ET] well as our US domestic margin expansion plans for QA twenty seven. [6:08:33 PM ET] 27. The next question is from Brian. [6:08:33 PM ET] expansion as well as our u s domestic margin expansion plans for cy twenty [6:08:33 PM ET] seven [6:08:37 PM ET] the next question is from brian ossenbeck with jpmorgan [6:08:37 PM ET] please go ahead [6:08:37 PM ET] Osenbeck with J. P. Morgan, please go ahead. [6:08:41 PM ET] I think Persia Dak. [6:08:45 PM ET] thanks evening appreciate taking the question [6:08:45 PM ET] a question. Maybe this is for Raja won't. [6:08:49 PM ET] won't quite be there for another month or so. But clearly there's a good amount of. [6:08:49 PM ET] maybe this is for raj i know new cfo won't quite be there for another month or so [6:08:53 PM ET] but clearly there's a good amount of [6:08:53 PM ET] dry powder on the balance sheet from all the strategic and [6:08:57 PM ET] tough decisions you guys have been executing on the last couple of years. So maybe you can walk us through. [6:08:57 PM ET] dry powder on the balance sheet from all the strategic and [6:08:57 PM ET] tough decisions you guys have been executing on the last couple of years so [6:09:01 PM ET] you can walk us through [6:09:01 PM ET] us through some of the options you have for monetizing the stake in Federal. [6:09:05 PM ET] screen. And then also, how you would consider the leverage program. [6:09:05 PM ET] some of the options you have for monetizing the stake in [6:09:09 PM ET] fedex freight and then also how you would consider the leverage profile [6:09:09 PM ET] of the business going forward would you consider [6:09:09 PM ET] profile of the business going forward? Would you consider ramping up? [6:09:13 PM ET] some of the taking out some additional depth to potentially further? [6:09:17 PM ET] ramping up some of the taking out some additional debt to potentially further fund [6:09:17 PM ET] fund the buyback. Thank you. [6:09:17 PM ET] the buyback [6:09:17 PM ET] thank you [6:09:21 PM ET] Thank you, Brian. I'm going to appreciate the question. [6:09:21 PM ET] thank you brian and we appreciate the [6:09:25 PM ET] Firstly, it's mental. [6:09:25 PM ET] firstly as [6:09:29 PM ET] Mentioned in my remarks, and you heard throughout, that we are focused significantly. [6:09:29 PM ET] i've mentioned in my remarks and you heard throughout that we are [6:09:33 PM ET] focused significantly on our free cash flow and we are [6:09:33 PM ET] significantly on our free cash flow, and we are targeting what's called billion dollars. [6:09:37 PM ET] dollars of free cash flow this kind of year. And as you know, our goal. [6:09:37 PM ET] targeting about four billion dollars of free cash flow this calendar year [6:09:41 PM ET] goals for CY2N and I have a six billion dollar precash fund and [6:09:41 PM ET] and as you know our goals for cy 'twenty nine have [6:09:45 PM ET] this is being driven by our performance on our core business. [6:09:45 PM ET] a six billion dollars free cash flow and this is being driven by our [6:09:49 PM ET] That's what's driving it. And so we are excited about that. [6:09:49 PM ET] performance on our core business that's what's driving it [6:09:53 PM ET] and so we are excited about that because it now gives us [6:09:53 PM ET] because it now gives us a lot more optionality for us. [6:09:57 PM ET] a lot more optionality for us and we have an [6:09:57 PM ET] us, and then we have an opportunity to do now. Significantly focus on our. [6:10:01 PM ET] to now significantly focus our efforts on our capital allocation [6:10:01 PM ET] efforts on our capital allocation. And we don't have. [6:10:05 PM ET] we're to have a north star of making sure that [6:10:05 PM ET] non-star of making sure that we create a lot of value. [6:10:09 PM ET] value for our stockholders. Even as evidence by [6:10:09 PM ET] we create a lot of value for our stockholders [6:10:13 PM ET] or two billion dollar buyback in this quarter, which is. [6:10:13 PM ET] even as evidenced by our two billion dollars buyback [6:10:17 PM ET] is higher than we originally communicated. So we have a lot of opportunities. [6:10:17 PM ET] in this quarter which is higher than we originally had communicated [6:10:21 PM ET] opportunities which will look ahead, and this is going to be an important consideration. [6:10:21 PM ET] we have a lot of opportunities as you look ahead and this is going to be an important [6:10:25 PM ET] consideration. And I'm going to let Claude just. [6:10:25 PM ET] consideration i'm going to let [6:10:29 PM ET] just weigh in on freight monetization and other things. [6:10:33 PM ET] But the principle is clearly that we now have the optionality now to. [6:10:33 PM ET] claude just weigh in on freight monetization and other things but [6:10:33 PM ET] the principle is clearly [6:10:37 PM ET] make sure that we reward our stockholders. Appreciate it right. As we said, before. [6:10:37 PM ET] we now have the optionality now to make sure that we reward our stockholders [6:10:41 PM ET] before, to learn the tax efficient status of the separation, we were [6:10:41 PM ET] appreciate it raj as we said before to preserve the tax [6:10:45 PM ET] efficient status of the separation we're required to monetize [6:10:45 PM ET] stake within twenty four months of the spin date [6:10:45 PM ET] required a monha at the stake within 24 months of the sin day. [6:10:49 PM ET] where, as Rod said, we're going to deploy that capital to maximize share. [6:10:53 PM ET] and whereas raj said we're going to deploy that capital [6:10:53 PM ET] shareholder value. As I said, last quarter, really, it [6:10:53 PM ET] to maximize shareholder value as i said [6:10:57 PM ET] Niraja's leadership were bringing the same level of discipline and rigor to the [6:10:57 PM ET] last quarter really that rod and raj's leadership were bringing the same level of [6:11:01 PM ET] discipline and rigor to the balance sheet and shareholder returns [6:11:01 PM ET] balance sheet and shareholder returns that we've been delivering operationally. [6:11:05 PM ET] and you know, we'll continue to deploy cash to enhance your holder returns. [6:11:05 PM ET] that we've been delivering operationally and on the p and l [6:11:09 PM ET] we'll continue to deploy cash to enhance shareholder returns [6:11:09 PM ET] returns. The next question is from. [6:11:13 PM ET] Scott Group with Wolf Research, please go ahead. [6:11:13 PM ET] the next question is from scott group with wolfe research [6:11:13 PM ET] please go ahead [6:11:17 PM ET] Hey, thanks afternoon. So I want to just dig into the fourth core. [6:11:17 PM ET] hey thanks good afternoon so i want to just dig into the [6:11:21 PM ET] quarter guide a little bit more. So over 20% earnings. [6:11:25 PM ET] fourth quarter guide a little bit more so [6:11:25 PM ET] over twenty percent earnings growth for the year i guess fourth quarter implies [6:11:25 PM ET] growth for the year. I guess fourth quarter implies like high single digits. [6:11:29 PM ET] single-digit growth. I know you're talking about some transitory. [6:11:29 PM ET] close to like high single digit growth i know you're talking about some [6:11:33 PM ET] headwinds in Q4. Can you just like help us understand why? [6:11:33 PM ET] transitory headwinds in q4 can you just like [6:11:37 PM ET] why pilot costs and purchase transportation are transitory? [6:11:37 PM ET] help us understand why pilot costs and purchase transportation are transitory [6:11:41 PM ET] like ultimately what i'm trying to figure out is like is this [6:11:41 PM ET] like, ultimately, what I'm trying to figure out is this high single digit. [6:11:45 PM ET] exit run rate? Is that the right way to think about 20? [6:11:45 PM ET] high single digit exit [6:11:49 PM ET] run rate is that the right way to think about [6:11:49 PM ET] 27, or do you think, like, the earnings growth rate we accelerate more? [6:11:53 PM ET] like what we saw for the full year. And then, if I can just rise just one particular. [6:11:53 PM ET] twenty seven or do you think like the earnings growth rate reaccelerates more like what we saw [6:11:57 PM ET] for the full year and then if i can just raj just one like a [6:11:57 PM ET] a separate just bigger picture question, like now that we can do more of. [6:11:57 PM ET] a separate just bigger picture question like [6:12:01 PM ET] like an apples to apples cop versus UPS, like [6:12:01 PM ET] now that we can do more of like an apples to apples [6:12:05 PM ET] comp versus ups like their international margins were [6:12:05 PM ET] international margins were 15% in Q3. They're talking about 20%. [6:12:09 PM ET] fifteen percent in q3 they're talking about twenty percent in q4 [6:12:09 PM ET] you guys were at four percent like [6:12:09 PM ET] and Q4. You guys are at four. Like, what are we doing? [6:12:13 PM ET] what are we doing to [6:12:13 PM ET] like [6:12:13 PM ET] Meaningfully close this gap over time. [6:12:17 PM ET] we can't. [6:12:17 PM ET] meaningfully close this gap over time if if it if [6:12:17 PM ET] we can't [6:12:21 PM ET] Thanks for the question. I'll start and then on the fourth quarter and then turn it over to Raj. [6:12:21 PM ET] thanks for the question i'll [6:12:25 PM ET] mean, first and foremost, you know, we're so continued strong international. [6:12:25 PM ET] start and then on the fourth quarter and then turn it over to raj [6:12:29 PM ET] mean and foremost we're assuming continued strong international margin [6:12:30 PM ET] margin expansion. The headwinds we talked about are primarily. [6:12:33 PM ET] on the US side. And I've talked about the purchase transportation. [6:12:33 PM ET] expansion the headwinds we talked about are primarily [6:12:37 PM ET] on the u s side and i've talked about [6:12:37 PM ET] the purchased transportation that being one hundred and thirty million dollars which [6:12:37 PM ET] transportation and that being 130 million dollars, which is significantly higher. [6:12:41 PM ET] than the Q3 impact. And we believe that we have left. [6:12:41 PM ET] is significantly higher than the q3 impact [6:12:45 PM ET] levers to minimize that over time in TY27. So we would expect. [6:12:45 PM ET] and we believe that we have levers to minimize that over time and see why [6:12:49 PM ET] expect a higher growth rate in 27 and more flow through. [6:12:49 PM ET] 'twenty seven so we would expect higher growth rates in 'twenty seven and more flow through [6:12:53 PM ET] we also have the one hundred million dollars pilot agreement [6:12:53 PM ET] We also have the $100 million pilot agreement. We're also from a [6:12:57 PM ET] timing perspective. We have, you know, we recognize aircraft maintenance expense. [6:12:57 PM ET] we're also from a timing perspective we have we've [6:13:01 PM ET] expense is we induct the engines and do that aircraft maintenance and we [6:13:01 PM ET] recognized aircraft maintenance expense as we induct the engines and do that aircraft [6:13:05 PM ET] we have a big hit of 80 million dollars in Q4. [6:13:05 PM ET] maintenance and we have a big hit of eighty million dollars in q4 [6:13:09 PM ET] the combination of those things gets us, if you were to explore. [6:13:13 PM ET] so the combination of those things gets us if you were to exclude those our [6:13:13 PM ET] exclude those, our basic spent increases are up about four percent. [6:13:17 PM ET] base expense increases are up about four percent [6:13:17 PM ET] with yield growth, excluding fuel and FX, to be about 4.6%. [6:13:21 PM ET] a positive spread of 60 basis points. And then from [6:13:21 PM ET] with yield growth excluding fuel and fx to be about four point six [6:13:25 PM ET] percent so a positive spread of sixty basis points [6:13:25 PM ET] farther, from a range perspective, I think it's important to know that we're [6:13:25 PM ET] and then further from a range perspective think it's important to note [6:13:29 PM ET] we're talking at the midpoint of the range. One other piece of information I want to. [6:13:33 PM ET] that we're talking at the midpoint of the range one other [6:13:33 PM ET] to give you is that a mid-pointed range aligns with our. [6:13:33 PM ET] piece of information i want to give you is that [6:13:37 PM ET] with our transition year 26 business plan, and so as we exceed the [6:13:37 PM ET] the midpoint of the range aligns with our transition year twenty six [6:13:41 PM ET] midpoint of the range, that will incur additional variable compensation. [6:13:41 PM ET] business plan and so as we exceed the midpoint of the range [6:13:45 PM ET] compensation expense. And so it could be up to 100 million dollars. [6:13:45 PM ET] that will we will incur additional variable compensation expense [6:13:49 PM ET] and so it could be up to one hundred million dollars of additional variable compensation expense [6:13:49 PM ET] at the top of the range [6:13:49 PM ET] additional variable compensation expense at the top of the range. [6:13:53 PM ET] obviously, that headwind in CY26 will. [6:13:57 PM ET] and obviously that headwind in cy twenty twenty six [6:13:57 PM ET] will abate and not be a headwind in CY27. So that's just a little [6:14:01 PM ET] will abate and not be a headwind in cy 'twenty seven so [6:14:01 PM ET] more color on why some of these Q4 and even Q3 will not repeat. [6:14:05 PM ET] that's just a little more color on why some of these q4 and even q3 [6:14:05 PM ET] will not repeat in cy twenty twenty seven [6:14:05 PM ET] and see why it's only seven from a headline perspective. And Scott. [6:14:05 PM ET] from a headwind perspective [6:14:09 PM ET] on your question or international, clearly, that is our upside. [6:14:09 PM ET] and scott [6:14:13 PM ET] on your question on international clearly that is our [6:14:13 PM ET] upside opportunity for fedex and we are absolutely committed [6:14:13 PM ET] upside opportunity for FedEx, and we are absolutely committed to drawing. [6:14:17 PM ET] driving profitable growth in the international segment. As demonstrated by [6:14:17 PM ET] to driving profitable growth in the international segment [6:14:21 PM ET] as demonstrated by our stellar q3 performance [6:14:21 PM ET] by our stellar 2-3 performance, 17% revenue growth. [6:14:25 PM ET] growth and 52% operating growth the over. And we are [6:14:25 PM ET] of seventeen percent revenue growth and fifty two percent operating growth year over year [6:14:29 PM ET] and we are in well positioned to achieve our committed target of eight [6:14:29 PM ET] are in well positioned to achieve our committed target of 8%. [6:14:33 PM ET] operating margin in CY29. Now, key door strategies. [6:14:37 PM ET] percent operating margin in cy 'twenty nine now key to our strategy [6:14:37 PM ET] strategy is winning across a broad base of industry verticals. [6:14:41 PM ET] healthcare, aerospace, defense, automotive and AI data centers would say. [6:14:41 PM ET] is winning across a broad base of industry verticals [6:14:45 PM ET] healthcare aerospace defense automotive [6:14:45 PM ET] exactly what is happening. And it was pointed out earlier. [6:14:45 PM ET] and ai data centers which is exactly what is happening [6:14:49 PM ET] our execution of our tri-colour network is very [6:14:49 PM ET] and as was pointed out earlier our execution of our tricolor network [6:14:53 PM ET] strong as we continue to increase flexibility or reliability. [6:14:57 PM ET] and density in a very, very dynamic world. Now, if [6:14:57 PM ET] is very strong as we continue to increase [6:14:57 PM ET] flexibility reliability and density in a very very dynamic world [6:15:01 PM ET] now any path to substantial success for international [6:15:01 PM ET] any path to substantial success for international runs through. [6:15:05 PM ET] runs through europe [6:15:05 PM ET] we have made [6:15:05 PM ET] through Europe. And we have made good progress in Europe, driving. [6:15:09 PM ET] good progress in europe driving significant growth over the last three years [6:15:09 PM ET] driving significant growth over the last three years. [6:15:13 PM ET] sense, our network utilization in Europe is quite strong. [6:15:17 PM ET] in essence our network utilization in europe is [6:15:17 PM ET] quite strong which now gives us leverage [6:15:17 PM ET] which now gives us leverage. So, our strategy in Europe is three points. [6:15:21 PM ET] threefold. Firstly, to reduce structural costs. [6:15:21 PM ET] our strategy in europe is threefold firstly [6:15:21 PM ET] to reduce structural costs [6:15:25 PM ET] our target is to reduce [6:15:25 PM ET] Our target is to reduce our Italy domestic capacity by 20. [6:15:29 PM ET] 20%. UK domestic capacity by 30%, and friends. [6:15:29 PM ET] our italy domestic capacity by twenty percent [6:15:33 PM ET] u k domestic capacity by thirty percent and france by forty percent [6:15:33 PM ET] by 40%. The second part of our strategy is to improve the mix. [6:15:37 PM ET] Given the network utilization, we are now focusing our commercials. [6:15:37 PM ET] second part of our strategy is to improve the mix [6:15:41 PM ET] given the network utilization we are now [6:15:41 PM ET] focusing our commercial teams on driving more intercontinental [6:15:41 PM ET] commercial teams on driving more into continental and intra-European. [6:15:45 PM ET] intra-European volume and reducing lower yielding into a country volume. [6:15:45 PM ET] and intra european volume and reducing lower yielding intra country volume [6:15:49 PM ET] volume. You will note that the intra country volume is down 11%. [6:15:53 PM ET] in Q3. And further, we will continue to talk. [6:15:53 PM ET] you will note that the intra country volume is down [6:15:53 PM ET] eleven percent in q3 [6:15:57 PM ET] target a more B2B mix in Europe. And then, thirdly, [6:15:57 PM ET] and further we will continue to target [6:15:57 PM ET] a more b2b mix in europe [6:16:01 PM ET] thirdly, we will leverage the in-post-commercial relationship so we can focus our. [6:16:01 PM ET] and then thirdly [6:16:05 PM ET] we will leverage the in post commercial relationship so we can focus our attention on b2b [6:16:05 PM ET] attention on B to B by leveraging a best in class partner. [6:16:09 PM ET] partner for B to C. We are early innings in this journey. [6:16:09 PM ET] by leveraging a best in class partner for b to c we are [6:16:13 PM ET] journey, and I'm on track to achieve the 650 million dollars. [6:16:13 PM ET] early innings in this journey and then on track [6:16:17 PM ET] dollars in operating profit improvement in Europe by CY29. [6:16:17 PM ET] to achieve the six fifty million dollars in operating profit improvement in europe [6:16:21 PM ET] the majority of which will be cost reduction. And one final. [6:16:21 PM ET] by cy 'twenty nine majority of which will be cost reduction [6:16:25 PM ET] final point: the international margin of 8% in CYD. [6:16:25 PM ET] and one final point [6:16:29 PM ET] the international margin of eight percent in cy 'twenty nine is only a [6:16:29 PM ET] CY29 is only a way point. We look forward to drawing. [6:16:29 PM ET] waypoint [6:16:33 PM ET] driving into double digit mars and turtle from there. Thank you. [6:16:33 PM ET] we look forward to driving into double digit margin territory from there [6:16:33 PM ET] thank you [6:16:37 PM ET] The next question is from Ken Hexter with Bank of America. [6:16:41 PM ET] America. Please go ahead. Hey, great. [6:16:41 PM ET] the next question is from ken hoexter with bank of america please go ahead [6:16:45 PM ET] hey great [6:16:45 PM ET] you talked about the kind of [6:16:45 PM ET] You know, you talked about the kind of full year U.S. domain. [6:16:49 PM ET] domestic margin up year over year in 27. Maybe any thoughts on strength. [6:16:49 PM ET] full year u s domestic margin up year over year in [6:16:53 PM ET] stranded costs from FedEx Freight or supply chain or any additional costs. [6:16:53 PM ET] twenty twenty seven maybe any thoughts on stranded costs from fedex freight or supply chain or [6:16:57 PM ET] we see coming through from the rest of the network, 2.0. [6:16:57 PM ET] any additional costs we see coming through from the rest of the network two point zero [6:17:01 PM ET] You know, I guess just trying to see the ramp that we can see. [6:17:05 PM ET] see going forward. I think that's a lot of concern given the [6:17:05 PM ET] i guess just trying to see the ramp that we can see [6:17:09 PM ET] state of or I guess the fourth quarter outlook you've provided. Thanks. [6:17:09 PM ET] going forward i think that's a lot of concern given the state of or i guess the [6:17:09 PM ET] the fourth quarter outlook you've provided [6:17:09 PM ET] thanks [6:17:13 PM ET] No, appreciate it. I'll start with that when the [6:17:17 PM ET] i appreciate it i'll start with that when the [6:17:17 PM ET] the brake stranding cost. As I talked about last quarter, you know, we started the [6:17:21 PM ET] the year with the 350 million dollar starting point. [6:17:21 PM ET] freight stranded costs as i talked about last quarter we started the year [6:17:25 PM ET] with the three fifty million dollars starting point [6:17:25 PM ET] and we have done a good job this year and are confident we're going to end this year at the [6:17:29 PM ET] that 250 million dollars. As I said last quarter, we won't. [6:17:29 PM ET] and we have done a good job this year and are confident we're [6:17:29 PM ET] end this year at that two fifty million dollars [6:17:33 PM ET] will make significant progress in reducing the 250 during season. [6:17:33 PM ET] as i said last quarter we will make significant progress [6:17:37 PM ET] CWA 27 from an exit rate perspective. So I'm [6:17:37 PM ET] in reducing the two fifty during cy twenty twenty seven from an [6:17:41 PM ET] exit rate perspective so i wouldn't take that as a complete [6:17:41 PM ET] wouldn't take that as a complete tailwind in 27, but I thought. [6:17:45 PM ET] tailwind in twenty twenty seven but as i said last quarter would not expect [6:17:45 PM ET] said, last quarter would not expect to be talking about. [6:17:49 PM ET] to be talking about the stranded cost pass [6:17:49 PM ET] the stranded cost, pass 27, and certainly is not included. [6:17:53 PM ET] assumed to be not assumed as extra cost. [6:17:53 PM ET] twenty seven and certainly it's not it's assumed to be not assumed as [6:17:57 PM ET] CY29 targets. If I look beyond the freight station, [6:17:57 PM ET] as extra costs in our cy twenty twenty nine targets [6:18:01 PM ET] stranded cost. We're confident, as you talked about, we're absolutely on track. [6:18:01 PM ET] if i look beyond the freight spending stranded costs we're confident [6:18:05 PM ET] you talked about we're absolutely on track from a network [6:18:05 PM ET] a network 2.0 perspective to get our. [6:18:05 PM ET] two point zero perspective to [6:18:09 PM ET] you know, the two billion dollars, not the end of CY 27. [6:18:09 PM ET] get our the two billion dollars by the end of cy twenty twenty seven [6:18:13 PM ET] And then, you know, overall, we would expect the variable comp and not the [6:18:17 PM ET] and then overall we would expect the [6:18:17 PM ET] variable comp to not be a headwind in cy twenty twenty seven so i'll just reiterate [6:18:17 PM ET] headwind in CY27. So I'll just reiterate, you know, obviously not here to give an. [6:18:21 PM ET] an exact number. Talk about 27. We're still working through that point. [6:18:25 PM ET] plan, but we are committed to both overall and segment margin. [6:18:25 PM ET] not here to give an exact number talk about twenty seven [6:18:25 PM ET] still working through that plan but we are committed to both overall and [6:18:29 PM ET] segment margin expansion in cy twenty seven [6:18:29 PM ET] expansion in TY27. [6:18:33 PM ET] The next question is from Chris Wutherby with Wells Fargo. Please go ahead. [6:18:37 PM ET] ahead. Thanks for that for maybe. [6:18:37 PM ET] the next question is from chris wetherbee with wells fargo please go ahead [6:18:41 PM ET] if we could think a little bit about the early pieces of the bridge. [6:18:41 PM ET] hey thanks good afternoon [6:18:45 PM ET] maybe if we could think a little bit about the early [6:18:45 PM ET] for 2027. Obviously, you guys have talked about network 2.0. [6:18:45 PM ET] pieces of the bridge for twenty twenty seven obviously [6:18:49 PM ET] 2.0, which I think is another billion dollars in 27. Roger just mentioned. [6:18:49 PM ET] you guys have talked about network two point zero which i think is another one billion dollars in twenty twenty seven [6:18:53 PM ET] a couple times the $650 million from proof in their national year. [6:18:57 PM ET] Europe specifically, I don't know how much of that kind of shows up in 2027. [6:18:57 PM ET] raj you just mentioned a couple of times the six fifty million dollars for improvement in international [6:19:01 PM ET] specifically don't know how much of that kind of shows up in twenty twenty seven and then [6:19:01 PM ET] and then maybe they round it all out. I guess, you know, breeze, you think about that long. [6:19:05 PM ET] longer term volume target you guys laid out through 2029. [6:19:05 PM ET] maybe to round it all out i guess brie as you think about that longer term volume [6:19:09 PM ET] Is 27 a better year for volume growth? It seems on the international. [6:19:09 PM ET] target you guys laid out through twenty twenty nine is twenty seven up [6:19:13 PM ET] side. There's some decent tail ones that start to pick up here. Not exactly sure how you. [6:19:13 PM ET] better year for volume growth it seems on the international side there's some decent tailwinds that have started to pick up here [6:19:17 PM ET] think about the domestic piece, but maybe sort of putting all those together if you can give us some rough sense. [6:19:17 PM ET] not exactly sure how you think about the domestic piece but maybe sort of putting all those together if you can give us some rough [6:19:21 PM ET] of how that might play. Yeah, I also articulate. [6:19:21 PM ET] sense of how that might play [6:19:25 PM ET] yes i'll start and then turn it over to brie [6:19:25 PM ET] over to Bree. I've talked about a lot of the items, a couple additional items that I'll. [6:19:29 PM ET] I'll add is you gotta remember, we'll still have the power. [6:19:29 PM ET] i've talked about a lot of the items a couple of additional items that i'll add is [6:19:33 PM ET] contract in the first half of CY27, so that headwind will abandon. [6:19:33 PM ET] you got to remember we'll still have the pilot contract in the first half [6:19:37 PM ET] abate in the second half. Also, if you look all the way to Q4, of [6:19:37 PM ET] of cy twenty twenty seven so that headwind will abate in the second half [6:19:41 PM ET] next year, we'll have one less operating day. So, that'll be another, you know, 100%. [6:19:41 PM ET] also if you look all the way to q4 of next year we'll have one less operating day [6:19:45 PM ET] 150 million plus headwind. And then, like I said, very [6:19:45 PM ET] that'll be another one hundred and fifty million dollars plus headwind [6:19:49 PM ET] variable comp will not be a headwind in CWI 27. But [6:19:49 PM ET] and then like i said variable comp will not be a headwind in cy twenty twenty seven [6:19:53 PM ET] I'll turn over to Bree to talk the second part. Do you think Black? [6:19:53 PM ET] but with that i'll turn it over to bree to talk the second part [6:19:57 PM ET] sure thanks claude so right now we are committed [6:19:57 PM ET] Lad. So right now, we are committed to our 4% growth. [6:20:01 PM ET] growth beyond CY26 that we discussed in the February. [6:20:01 PM ET] to our four percent growth beyond cy twenty [6:20:05 PM ET] six that we discussed in the february investor day i wanna [6:20:05 PM ET] investor day. I want to be clear that 4% is excluding. [6:20:09 PM ET] any fuel surcharge, so that really is core growth. [6:20:09 PM ET] clear that four percent is excluding any fuel surcharge so that really is [6:20:13 PM ET] core growth four percent is two percent volume two [6:20:13 PM ET] percent is two percent volume, two percent yield. We want to do about fifteen. [6:20:17 PM ET] 50 percent or more in B to B. And we [6:20:17 PM ET] yield we want to do about fifty percent or more [6:20:21 PM ET] in b2b and we really want to stick [6:20:21 PM ET] we really want to stick to that right now because it allows our commercial teams to stay. [6:20:25 PM ET] disciplined. It allows us to focus on the highest end of the market. [6:20:25 PM ET] to that right now because it allows our commercial teams to stay disciplined [6:20:29 PM ET] which is you just saw we are doing quite well. We grew commercial. [6:20:29 PM ET] it allows us to focus on the highest end of the market which is [6:20:33 PM ET] ground volume much faster than our primary competitor in the [6:20:33 PM ET] just how we are doing quite well we grew commercial ground volume [6:20:37 PM ET] much faster than our primary competitor in the overall market [6:20:37 PM ET] overall market. It allows us to lean into the premium end of gas. [6:20:41 PM ET] the premium end of healthcare and the AI and data center markets. [6:20:41 PM ET] allows us to lean into the premium end of gas the [6:20:45 PM ET] premium end of healthcare and ai and data center market so [6:20:45 PM ET] So right now we're going to stay the course with that 4%, but I am excited. [6:20:49 PM ET] extremely pleased that the team is beating that right now with just a [6:20:49 PM ET] right now we're gonna stay the course of that four percent but i am [6:20:53 PM ET] incredibly disciplined execution. [6:20:53 PM ET] extremely pleased that the team is beating that right now with just [6:20:53 PM ET] incredibly disciplined execution [6:20:57 PM ET] next question is from Ari Rosa with Citigroup, please go ahead. [6:20:57 PM ET] the next question is from ari rosa with citigroup [6:20:57 PM ET] please go ahead [6:21:01 PM ET] Hi, good evening. Um, we may. [6:21:05 PM ET] hi good evening [6:21:05 PM ET] you could discuss peak extra potations and just kind of how things are changing. [6:21:09 PM ET] brie maybe you could discuss peak expectations and just kind of how things [6:21:09 PM ET] shaping up from a macro standpoint. As you go and have conversations with customers. [6:21:13 PM ET] customers, both domestically and internationally. [6:21:13 PM ET] are shaping up from a macro standpoint as you go out and have conversations with customers [6:21:17 PM ET] what they're saying are they optimistic, or their concerns about kind of two. [6:21:17 PM ET] both domestically and internationally what what they're saying are they [6:21:21 PM ET] price denting delay? Just give us your, give us a little bit of that. [6:21:21 PM ET] optimistic are there concerns about kind of fuel price [6:21:25 PM ET] of kind of that dynamic there. Thank you. [6:21:25 PM ET] demand just give us your give us a little bit of sense of kind of that [6:21:25 PM ET] that dynamic there thanks [6:21:29 PM ET] Sure, great question. As we look into [6:21:33 PM ET] sure great question [6:21:33 PM ET] into Q4, we talked about this, that we are expecting about 10%. [6:21:33 PM ET] as we look into q4 we talked about this that we are expecting about [6:21:37 PM ET] revenue growth. We are expecting sort of high single digits. [6:21:41 PM ET] digit here in the United States. So Q4 versus Q3. [6:21:41 PM ET] ten percent revenue growth we are expecting sort of high single digit [6:21:45 PM ET] Q3 from a year-over-year perspective is slightly lower. [6:21:45 PM ET] here in the united states so q4 versus q3 [6:21:49 PM ET] do not think that's an indication of the mass probe more that we are. [6:21:49 PM ET] from a year over year perspective is slightly lower [6:21:53 PM ET] are laughing is very strong for onboarding from last. [6:21:53 PM ET] i do not think that's an indication of the macro but more that we are lapping [6:21:57 PM ET] a very strong q4 onboarding from last year [6:21:57 PM ET] last year. When we're talking to our peak customers, a couple of our customers. [6:22:01 PM ET] customers as we're planning for P, a couple of things, and you know, our top 30 customers. [6:22:01 PM ET] when we're talking to our peak customers a couple of our customers as we're planning for peak a [6:22:05 PM ET] customers drive about 35% of our peaking factor here in the United. [6:22:05 PM ET] couple of things our top thirty customers drive about thirty five [6:22:09 PM ET] United States. In general, they are forecasting about a [6:22:09 PM ET] percent of our peaking factor here in the united states [6:22:13 PM ET] in general they are forecasting about a two percent [6:22:13 PM ET] 2% average daily volume growth for peak. [6:22:17 PM ET] that's specific to the peak period, which is sort of Black Friday through. [6:22:17 PM ET] average daily volume growth for peak and that's specific to the peak [6:22:17 PM ET] period which is sort of black friday [6:22:21 PM ET] Christmas. It's important to know that we have one extra day in November. [6:22:25 PM ET] November, so that's great for retailers and it's great for our peak demand. [6:22:25 PM ET] through christmas it's important to note that we have one [6:22:29 PM ET] extra day in november so that's great for retailers and it's great for our our peak demand [6:22:29 PM ET] SMB in our small business is actually really strong. [6:22:33 PM ET] strong as well. And so that is a bright or really pleasing. [6:22:33 PM ET] smb our small business is actually really [6:22:37 PM ET] strong as well and so that is a a bright spot we're really pleased to see that in [6:22:37 PM ET] to see that in Q3, SMB grew faster. [6:22:41 PM ET] than our large customer segment. I will admit, a big part of that is exiting. [6:22:41 PM ET] q three smb grew faster [6:22:41 PM ET] than our large customer segment [6:22:45 PM ET] i will admit a big part of that is execution they are growing faster than market [6:22:45 PM ET] execution. They are growing faster than market, but also, um, when [6:22:49 PM ET] remarkably resilient. So as we head into peak despite the high fuel search. [6:22:49 PM ET] but also remarkably resilient so as we head into peak [6:22:53 PM ET] despite the high fuel surcharge the u s consumer seems resilient [6:22:53 PM ET] surcharge, the U.S. consumer seems resilient both large and. [6:22:57 PM ET] and small customers seem to be able to pass on the keyword to date. [6:22:57 PM ET] both large and small customers seem to be able to pass on the fuel to date [6:23:01 PM ET] If I can just add one more line to that, as we have seen more. [6:23:05 PM ET] moderate volume growth, we expect a strong service fee and a strong. [6:23:05 PM ET] if i can just add one more line to that [6:23:05 PM ET] as we have seen moderate volume growth we expect a strong service peak [6:23:09 PM ET] and a strong profit peak [6:23:09 PM ET] strong profit beak. Thank you. [6:23:09 PM ET] thank you [6:23:13 PM ET] the next question is from david vernon with [6:23:13 PM ET] next question is from David Vernon with Bernstein, please go ahead. [6:23:13 PM ET] please go ahead [6:23:17 PM ET] Hey, good afternoon, team Ross. [6:23:21 PM ET] hey good afternoon [6:23:21 PM ET] wanted to ask you about the domestic margins. Obviously, a little bit of headwind from fuel and some of the variables. [6:23:25 PM ET] raj i wanted to ask you about the domestic margins obviously you got a little bit of headwind [6:23:25 PM ET] stuff Claude had mentioned. But as you kind of step back and look at the progress. [6:23:29 PM ET] on network 2.0 relative to a market word. [6:23:29 PM ET] fuel and some of the variable stuff claude had mentioned but as you kind of step back and look at the progress [6:23:33 PM ET] on network two dot o relative to [6:23:33 PM ET] where yields are pretty good, volumes are okay. Are you worried? [6:23:37 PM ET] where you want to be in terms of the rate of change and domestic margins as we end the year? [6:23:37 PM ET] a market where where yields are pretty good volume is okay [6:23:41 PM ET] are you where you want to be in terms of the rate of change in domestic [6:23:41 PM ET] the year, and that is you think about that final 35%. Can you give us some. [6:23:41 PM ET] margins as we end the year and then as you think about that final thirty five percent [6:23:45 PM ET] some sense for when that closes or what are the factors that help? [6:23:49 PM ET] can you give us some sense for when that closes or what are the [6:23:49 PM ET] you to get that last chunk of the network switched over? [6:23:53 PM ET] and whether there's any back-end savings around the whole network. 2.0 effort in 2017. [6:23:53 PM ET] factors that help you to get that last chunk of the network [6:23:53 PM ET] switched over and whether there's any back end savings around the whole network to that o effort [6:23:57 PM ET] we should be thinking about. [6:23:57 PM ET] twenty seven we should be thinking about [6:24:01 PM ET] you, David. Yes, I'm very excited in what the progress that we. [6:24:01 PM ET] thank you david yes i'm very excited and [6:24:05 PM ET] we are making on network 2.0 is just one of the most incredible. [6:24:05 PM ET] with the progress that we are making on network two point zero it's just one of the most [6:24:09 PM ET] accomplishments and the execution that I have seen. [6:24:09 PM ET] incredible accomplishments and execution that i have seen [6:24:13 PM ET] recent history in this company. And the answer. [6:24:13 PM ET] in recent history in this company [6:24:17 PM ET] your top line question, 100% we are convinced that. [6:24:21 PM ET] to answer your top line question one hundred percent we are convinced that [6:24:21 PM ET] convinced that we are going to improve our U.S. domain. [6:24:25 PM ET] domestic margins in 27 and then on beyond. [6:24:25 PM ET] we are going to improve our u s domestic margins [6:24:29 PM ET] in 'twenty seven and then on beyond and we are seeing some [6:24:29 PM ET] And we are seeing some temporary factors that we are now dealing with. [6:24:29 PM ET] temporary factors that we are now dealing with [6:24:33 PM ET] specifically towards network two point zero [6:24:33 PM ET] Specifically towards network 2.0, we made really good progress. [6:24:37 PM ET] we have made really good progress we've done obviously finished canada we already [6:24:37 PM ET] progress. You know, we're done obviously finished Canada, which we already talked to you about, the finished [6:24:41 PM ET] large US metro markets like Dallas, San Francisco. [6:24:41 PM ET] talked to you about we finished large us metro markets [6:24:41 PM ET] like dallas san francisco [6:24:45 PM ET] and most recently [6:24:45 PM ET] and most recently, Phoenix and Washington DC. [6:24:49 PM ET] In the next phase, we will tackle after Peak or Los Angeles. [6:24:49 PM ET] phoenix and washington dc in the next [6:24:53 PM ET] phase we'll tackle after peak or los angeles [6:24:53 PM ET] Charlotte, and then Oklahoma City. So as we enter peak, [6:24:53 PM ET] charlotte and then oklahoma city so [6:24:57 PM ET] with 65% of our illegible offspring ADV, right? [6:24:57 PM ET] as we enter peak [6:25:01 PM ET] with sixty five percent of our eligible off peak adv running to the network [6:25:01 PM ET] running to the network auto model. That'll be a new thing for that. So we are. [6:25:05 PM ET] excited to see how that plays out. We have close more than 260. [6:25:05 PM ET] good auto model that will be a new thing for fedex so we are excited to see how that plays out [6:25:09 PM ET] we have closed more than two sixty facilities [6:25:09 PM ET] 260 facilities and would have optimized nearly 600 and [6:25:13 PM ET] 640 stations, that's why we've done it, we've done it already. [6:25:13 PM ET] and would have optimized nearly six [6:25:13 PM ET] thirty stations as we've it already [6:25:17 PM ET] So we are very excited about the progress we're making in the [6:25:21 PM ET] program strong execution. We're targeting a billion dollars. [6:25:21 PM ET] we are very excited about the progress we're making that prop two point zero [6:25:21 PM ET] strong execution [6:25:25 PM ET] dollars of savings in 26 and [6:25:25 PM ET] we're targeting one billion dollars of savings in twenty six [6:25:29 PM ET] accumulated two billion by 27. This will have a strong. [6:25:33 PM ET] and cumulative two billion dollars by 'twenty seven [6:25:33 PM ET] you know, good strong opportunity to go to improve my. [6:25:33 PM ET] this will have a strong opportunity to fully [6:25:37 PM ET] margins in U.S. domestic business in 27, and then ongoing. [6:25:41 PM ET] to improve margins in u s domestic business in twenty [6:25:41 PM ET] ongoing from there. Thank you. [6:25:41 PM ET] seven and then ongoing from there thank you [6:25:45 PM ET] The next question is from Jonathan Chappelle with Evercore ISI. [6:25:45 PM ET] the next question is [6:25:49 PM ET] from jonathan chappell with evercore isi please go ahead [6:25:49 PM ET] please go ahead. Thank you. Good evening. [6:25:53 PM ET] Raj, obviously, a big focus on free cash flow, and I'm sure everybody wants. [6:25:53 PM ET] thank you good evening raj obviously a big [6:25:57 PM ET] you to use all of it to buy that stock. But you made a lot of [6:25:57 PM ET] focus on free cash flow and i'm sure everybody wants you to use all of it to buy back stock [6:26:01 PM ET] transitions here between the spin and then in post, and now selling support. [6:26:01 PM ET] but you've made a lot of transitions here between the spin [6:26:05 PM ET] supply chain solutions. When you look at the vertical, where you're really trying to focus. [6:26:05 PM ET] and then in post and now selling supply chain solutions [6:26:09 PM ET] through 2029. There are any holes in the business or areas operating. [6:26:09 PM ET] when you look at the verticals where you're really trying to focus through twenty twenty nine [6:26:13 PM ET] are there any holes in the business or areas of opportunity where you can invest [6:26:13 PM ET] opportunity where you can invest some of this free cash flow? [6:26:17 PM ET] either for volume growth or accretion, as opposed to just capital return. [6:26:17 PM ET] some of this free cash flow either for volume growth or accretion as opposed to just [6:26:21 PM ET] capital return [6:26:21 PM ET] Yeah, thank you, John. [6:26:25 PM ET] for the question. Yeah, this is obviously some of the heat concentration sets. [6:26:25 PM ET] yes thank you john for the question yes [6:26:29 PM ET] sets and how we deploy our capital in this environment. [6:26:29 PM ET] this is obviously you know some of the key consideration sets in how we deploy [6:26:33 PM ET] environment. Our portfolio is more or less believed, like the physical portfolio. [6:26:33 PM ET] our capital in this environment [6:26:37 PM ET] our portfolio is more or less fully intact the physical portfolio is [6:26:37 PM ET] portfolio is more or less there. We have targeted two things here and there. [6:26:41 PM ET] that might add to it. But I think the great news for FedEx is that. [6:26:41 PM ET] more or less there we have targeted two things here and there that might add to it but [6:26:41 PM ET] but [6:26:45 PM ET] we have a scaled global network already in place. [6:26:45 PM ET] i think the great news for fedex is that we have a scaled global network [6:26:49 PM ET] place. And we have the physical and the digital intelligence that's in. [6:26:49 PM ET] already in place and we have the physical and the digital intelligence [6:26:53 PM ET] increasingly more and more valuable in this one, in a very dynamic. [6:26:57 PM ET] that's increasingly more and more valuable in this in a very dynamic [6:26:57 PM ET] environment [6:26:57 PM ET] dynamic environment. So, yes, there may be some things here and there that we need to. [6:27:01 PM ET] to close off, but our portfolio is largely complete and it's pretty fun. [6:27:01 PM ET] so yes there may be some things here and there that we need to close off but our [6:27:05 PM ET] the ones that you're targeting. Whether it's healthcare, automotive, data center. [6:27:05 PM ET] portfolio is largely complete and especially for the ones that we're targeting [6:27:09 PM ET] AI data center business. Earth space defense. [6:27:09 PM ET] whether it's healthcare automotive data center ai ai data center business [6:27:13 PM ET] I think the fundamental is to have a strong physical network in place, which you already have. [6:27:13 PM ET] aerospace defense i think the fundamental is to have a strong physical network in place which [6:27:13 PM ET] we already have [6:27:17 PM ET] The next question is from Jordan. [6:27:21 PM ET] Ellager with Goldman Sachs. Please go ahead. [6:27:21 PM ET] the next question is from jordan alliger with goldman sachs [6:27:21 PM ET] please go ahead [6:27:25 PM ET] yes hi [6:27:25 PM ET] hi. So appreciate all the comments. [6:27:29 PM ET] comments on the domestic margin and the improvement for 2027. [6:27:29 PM ET] so appreciate all the comments on the domestic margin and the [6:27:33 PM ET] improvement for twenty twenty seven but [6:27:33 PM ET] 2027, but I don't know if you could help sort of pull it all together and. [6:27:33 PM ET] don't know if you could help sort of pull it all together and [6:27:37 PM ET] talk about when that inflection might come. I mean, is that like? [6:27:37 PM ET] talk about when that inflection [6:27:41 PM ET] might come i mean that like a first half a second half event as some of these costs [6:27:41 PM ET] like a first half, a second half event? Do some of these cots roll off. [6:27:45 PM ET] And I apologize. I don't know if you mentioned sort of high-level. [6:27:45 PM ET] roll off [6:27:49 PM ET] Is there another sort of step upcoming on the international front given the [6:27:49 PM ET] and i apologize i don't know if you mentioned sort of high level [6:27:53 PM ET] the strong results this quarter fence. [6:27:53 PM ET] is there another sort of step up coming on the international front [6:27:53 PM ET] given the strong results this quarter thanks [6:27:57 PM ET] i'll start with that no we [6:27:57 PM ET] I'll start with that. No, we absolutely just like international. [6:28:01 PM ET] margin to expand in Q4 year over year, and what expect international margins. [6:28:01 PM ET] absolutely just like we expect international margin to expand in q4 year over year [6:28:05 PM ET] margin to absolutely improve across TY27. [6:28:05 PM ET] expect international margin to absolutely improve across cy twenty seven [6:28:09 PM ET] We're in the middle of our planning stages right now, and so I'm not going to give you the timing. [6:28:13 PM ET] we're in the middle of our planning stages right now and so i'm not going to give you the [6:28:13 PM ET] for CWAT 27, but look forward to discussing that with you. [6:28:17 PM ET] on our keyframe call. [6:28:17 PM ET] timing for cy twenty seven but look forward to discussing that with you [6:28:17 PM ET] on our q4 call [6:28:21 PM ET] the next question is from [6:28:21 PM ET] The next question is from Tom Waterwitz with UBS, please go ahead. [6:28:25 PM ET] ahead. Yeah, good afternoon, and [6:28:25 PM ET] tom wadewitz with ubs please go ahead [6:28:29 PM ET] yes good afternoon and nice [6:28:29 PM ET] nice to see the continued momentum on the price and quality of business. [6:28:33 PM ET] business. Um, what were they to ask? I think it's for Claude, or maybe Rosh 2. [6:28:33 PM ET] to see the continued momentum in the price and quality of business [6:28:37 PM ET] but you know, we're seeing kind of a broader [6:28:37 PM ET] i wanted to ask i think it's for claude or maybe raj too but [6:28:37 PM ET] we're seeing kind of a broader [6:28:41 PM ET] unfortunately thematic cost pressure environment and transport right. [6:28:41 PM ET] unfortunately thematic [6:28:45 PM ET] it's most pronounced in truckload, but you know, you see driver, I mean, you see both. [6:28:45 PM ET] cost pressure environment in transport right i think it's most pronounced in truckload but [6:28:49 PM ET] brokered too, right? Like, insurance costs going up a lot. Um, I think. [6:28:49 PM ET] you see driver i mean you see brokerage too right like insurance costs going up a lot [6:28:53 PM ET] driver pay going up a lot. You know, you identified that is a pressure in your. [6:28:53 PM ET] i think driver pay going up a lot you [6:28:57 PM ET] summer line haul. How much do you think that that? [6:28:57 PM ET] identified that is a pressure in your some of your line haul [6:29:01 PM ET] that kind of continues? And I guess we're. [6:29:01 PM ET] how much do you think that that kind of [6:29:01 PM ET] continues and [6:29:05 PM ET] i guess within your line haul drivers if they're contractors [6:29:05 PM ET] within your line hall drivers with their contractors. [6:29:09 PM ET] i mean there's still those contractors still have to hire [6:29:09 PM ET] I mean, they're still, those contractors still have to hire drivers. [6:29:13 PM ET] right? That are doing you know line haul. So I'm just wondering, is that? [6:29:17 PM ET] that something that you have confidence? It's kind of in. [6:29:17 PM ET] drivers right that are doing line hauls [6:29:17 PM ET] i'm just wondering is that something that [6:29:17 PM ET] you have confidence is kind of [6:29:21 PM ET] inflation decreases, or is this more like hey, it. [6:29:21 PM ET] inflation decreases or is this more like [6:29:25 PM ET] it's just kind of structural. We got to deal with this and you know, elevated inflation rate. [6:29:25 PM ET] hey it's just kind of structural we got to deal with this and [6:29:29 PM ET] elevated inflation rate continues so we just got to keep getting a lot of rate [6:29:29 PM ET] rate continues, so we just got to keep getting a lot of rate. So I guess Broad Broad. [6:29:33 PM ET] broader thoughts on that, you know, because it does seem semantic across the industry. [6:29:33 PM ET] so i guess broader thoughts on that just because it does seem thematic across the industry [6:29:37 PM ET] Well, let me start and then. [6:29:41 PM ET] well me start and [6:29:41 PM ET] have called Wayne After that at the high level here. [6:29:45 PM ET] here, when there's tightening in capacity, we go. [6:29:45 PM ET] i'll have claude weigh in after that at a high at the at the high level here [6:29:49 PM ET] of reduction in the driver's capacity, it's actually going to be good. [6:29:49 PM ET] when there's tightening in capacity because of [6:29:53 PM ET] good for our industry when it's all said and done. It's a matter of timing. [6:29:53 PM ET] in driver capacity it's actually going to be good [6:29:57 PM ET] for our industry when it's all said and done it's a matter of timing [6:29:57 PM ET] And, you know, we experienced these incremental costs. [6:30:01 PM ET] cost pressures, and as mostly, as God pointed out, 10% of the [6:30:01 PM ET] we experienced these [6:30:01 PM ET] incremental cost pressures and especially as [6:30:01 PM ET] todd pointed out ten percent [6:30:05 PM ET] capacity is what we're really talking about. But we have levels. [6:30:09 PM ET] to pull here. Whether it is, you know, how we balance out. [6:30:09 PM ET] of the capacity is what we are really talking about we have levers to pull [6:30:13 PM ET] here whether it is how we balance out over time [6:30:13 PM ET] over time the use of this capacity. [6:30:13 PM ET] the use of this capacity or [6:30:17 PM ET] how we start to incorporate these costs into the pricing. [6:30:21 PM ET] how we start to incorporate these cost [6:30:21 PM ET] pricing models, which will then reflect into the pricing and revenue quality initiatives. [6:30:25 PM ET] So I think it'll start to at a highest level. [6:30:25 PM ET] into the pricing models which will then reflect into the pricing and revenue quality initiatives [6:30:29 PM ET] level, you know, having shorter capacity is. [6:30:29 PM ET] so i think it'll start to at the highest level [6:30:29 PM ET] you know having [6:30:33 PM ET] you know, smaller capacity is good for the industry and revenue quality. [6:30:33 PM ET] shorter capacity or smaller capacity is good for the industry [6:30:37 PM ET] revenue quality will match that so with that i'll just turn it over to [6:30:37 PM ET] quality will match that. So, with that, I'll just turn it over to Claire. [6:30:41 PM ET] I appreciate it, Raj. And that's the key point there that over time. [6:30:45 PM ET] claude no i appreciate it raj and i would ask a key point there that over time [6:30:45 PM ET] this is helpful for us and we'll manage to this. And the good thing is, we'll have both commercial. [6:30:49 PM ET] commercial and operational levers to manage the sound. We're confident we can do that. [6:30:49 PM ET] this is helpful for us and we'll manage to this and the good thing is we'll have both commercial and [6:30:53 PM ET] operational levers to manage this down and we're confident we can do that [6:30:53 PM ET] do that. The next question is from Brian. [6:30:57 PM ET] Brandon Oglinsky with bar clays. Please go ahead. [6:30:57 PM ET] the next question is from brandon oglenski with barclays [6:30:57 PM ET] please go ahead [6:31:01 PM ET] evening, thanks for taking the question. I want to come back to the B2B subjects because. [6:31:01 PM ET] hi good evening thanks for taking the question i want to come back to [6:31:05 PM ET] I guess if we listen to the conference call yesterday, your main competitor. [6:31:05 PM ET] the b2b subjects because i guess if we listen to the conference call yesterday your main competitor [6:31:09 PM ET] a focus of them focusing on premium verticals and B2B growth. So I guess. [6:31:13 PM ET] guess how do you rate three? And I know we spoke about this on the pricing side, but. [6:31:13 PM ET] that's also a focus of them focusing on premium verticals and b two b growth so [6:31:17 PM ET] i guess how do you rate pre and i know we spoke about this on the pricing side but just [6:31:17 PM ET] but just generally, you know, B2B competition, especially in the domestic U.S. market. [6:31:21 PM ET] market, looking into 2027. Thank you. [6:31:21 PM ET] generally b2b competition especially in the domestic u s market looking into [6:31:21 PM ET] twenty twenty seven thank you [6:31:25 PM ET] Yeah, so thank you for the question. [6:31:29 PM ET] I think first and foremost, we're excited about the opportunity. It's a [6:31:29 PM ET] yeah so thank you for the question [6:31:33 PM ET] i think first and foremost we're excited about the [6:31:33 PM ET] It's a really large total market when we look at the market that we're operating in. [6:31:37 PM ET] it's more than a $600 billion market globally. We've targeted. [6:31:37 PM ET] opportunity it's a really large total market when we look at the market that we're operating in [6:31:41 PM ET] targeted four key verticals that represent over 130 cylinders. [6:31:41 PM ET] more than a six hundred billion dollars market globally [6:31:45 PM ET] And right now, we're really excited, as Ross mentioned earlier. [6:31:45 PM ET] we've targeted four key verticals that represent over one hundred and thirty billion [6:31:49 PM ET] dollars and right now we're really excited as raj mentioned earlier about [6:31:49 PM ET] earlier, about our position in this market and our visit value problem. [6:31:53 PM ET] proposition. In Q3, we saw strength. [6:31:53 PM ET] our position in this market and our existing value proposition [6:31:57 PM ET] around the world. 50% of our revenue is D to B. [6:31:57 PM ET] in q three we saw strength around the world [6:32:01 PM ET] B. In the Q3, we grew more than 60%. [6:32:01 PM ET] sixty percent of our revenue is b two b in the [6:32:05 PM ET] 60% of the revenue was continued to be in B2B, and we saw strength and [6:32:05 PM ET] q three we grew more than sixty percent of the revenue was [6:32:09 PM ET] execution across the board. We had double-digit health care growth. [6:32:09 PM ET] continued to be in b2b and we saw strength and execution across the board [6:32:13 PM ET] growth. In particular, as you guys know, we have long been the market leader and mental. [6:32:13 PM ET] we had double digit healthcare growth in particular as you guys know we have [6:32:17 PM ET] tech here in the United States. We've gone after pharma, and it's growing double. [6:32:17 PM ET] long been the market leader in med tech here in the united states we've gone after pharma [6:32:21 PM ET] digit. So the team is very focused in executing there. [6:32:25 PM ET] AI and a data center perspective, we are the market lead. I would have [6:32:25 PM ET] and it's growing double digit so the team is very focused and [6:32:25 PM ET] executing there from an ai and a data center perspective we are the market leader [6:32:29 PM ET] Asia on the powerful side, and we're leveraging those relationships. [6:32:33 PM ET] The strength in AI and data center vertical with the fastest growing. [6:32:33 PM ET] out of asia on the parcel side and we're leveraging those relationships [6:32:37 PM ET] the strength in ai and data center vertical was the fastest growing [6:32:37 PM ET] segment that we had. We've also seen a resurgent in automotive as we just [6:32:41 PM ET] talked about a year ago, we said we needed to do better there and the [6:32:41 PM ET] segment that we had we've also seen a resurgence in automotive [6:32:45 PM ET] team performed and got high single digits in automotive, which is tough to do. [6:32:45 PM ET] as we just talked about a year ago we said we needed to do better there and the [6:32:45 PM ET] team performed and got high single digits in automotive which is [6:32:49 PM ET] do right now, because it is not one of the building markets that we are. [6:32:53 PM ET] are seeing right now. So I think it's a couple things. We've got a unique [6:32:53 PM ET] tough to do right now because it is not one of the booming [6:32:57 PM ET] value proposition when we compete against anyone outside of the top. [6:32:57 PM ET] markets that we are seeing right now i think at the [6:32:57 PM ET] couple of things we've got a unique value proposition [6:33:01 PM ET] two integrators, we have our end network that they simply don't have. [6:33:01 PM ET] when we compete against anyone outside of the top two integrators we have our end to end network [6:33:05 PM ET] We have a brand that opens doors and needs security, which matters for all of the [6:33:05 PM ET] that they simply don't have we have a brand that opens doors and means [6:33:09 PM ET] verbicals. It is definitely matters for AIDC. [6:33:09 PM ET] security which matters for all of these verticals it is [6:33:13 PM ET] and we have an organization that is customer and solutional. [6:33:13 PM ET] especially matters for aidc and we have an [6:33:17 PM ET] organization that is customer and solution oriented that is just [6:33:17 PM ET] oriented. That is just in our DNA, and it shows up time and time. [6:33:21 PM ET] time again. And I think the results that we just put on the board here globally. [6:33:21 PM ET] in our dna and it shows up time and time again [6:33:25 PM ET] and also it's important to note we did go B to B here in the US from commercial. [6:33:25 PM ET] and i think the results that we just put on the board here globally and also it's important to note [6:33:29 PM ET] commercial is up, priority is up, so um strong at the [6:33:29 PM ET] we did grow b2b here in the u s ground commercial is up [6:33:33 PM ET] execution, and I think you can expect it next quarter and right through CY27. [6:33:33 PM ET] priority is up so strong execution and i think you can expect it next [6:33:37 PM ET] quarter and right through cy twenty seven [6:33:37 PM ET] This concludes our question and answer. [6:33:41 PM ET] this concludes our question and answer session [6:33:41 PM ET] answer session. I would like to turn the conference back over to Raju Manium. [6:33:45 PM ET] for any closing of marks. Well, thank you all. [6:33:45 PM ET] i would like to turn the conference back over to raj subramaniam for any closing remarks [6:33:49 PM ET] operator. In closing, our Q3 results demonstrate our ability. [6:33:49 PM ET] well thank you operator [6:33:53 PM ET] ability to deliver strong financial results while supporting our customers.
